Emerald compared to Crown

Just booked a cruise on the Emerald. Is this ship very similar to the Crown or Carribean ? Have been on these and was wondering. How is the sanctuary?

Do you enter it by going thru the Lotus Spa. Then out to the Lotus Pool and up the stairs? This was an awkward way to enter it. But that's how it was on the Crown. Does the main traditional dining room have to take an elevator in the aft of the promenade deck just to get to this? This also was awkward on both the Crown and Carribean.

The Crown/Emerald/Ruby are sister ships and identical.

Most aft DR's you have to take an elevator or the stairs down to deck 6.

What's so awkward about it?

Emerald and Crown are almost identical. On both you can enter the sanctuary directly from deck 17, but you can also wander your way through the spa as you mention. There is an ADA lift to deck 17.

All Princess Grand Class ships plus the Royal and Regal have an aft DR on deck 6. This DR is used for traditional early and late seating dining. The galley is placed in between the deck 6 aft DR and the Deck 6 mid ship DR. From any deck 7 to the Lido Deck walk aft and take the elevator or walk down to deck 6.

That elevator was inoperable this past week (4/18-4/25) but it may be fixed during the drydock next week (5/2/15)

I would hope so. They are pretty good/capable of fixing most elevator issues during cruises but some are more serious and involved and have to have technicians from the elevator co come during the dry dock. :)
