motcruise Posted April 23, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2015 I apologize for this unusual question. I am going on the Mariner this Summer. I have Lou Gehrig's disease, and have very limited use of my arms. I do not have the ability to pick up a coffee cup or a drink glass. I hate the looks that I receive when drinking wine thru a straw, but it is better than going without. My question is does the Mariner have Styrofoam, or paper cups? I do not mind bringing mine from home, but assume they will be crushed during travel. I will be bringing plastic eating utensils as they should make the trip successfully. Thanks so much for any advice or help.
wripro Posted April 23, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2015 I would suggest that you have your travel agent make a special request for what you need to be aboard. I am sure they will accommodate you with great pleasure. Enjoy your cruise.
Rotterdam Posted April 23, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 23, 2015 your question is not so unusual ..... What really concerns me is your thought of doing without wine! My goodness that certainly is unthinkable to say the least...perhaps immediate consumption of your favorite wine would remedy that...and since you are about to board a cruise - champagne...start off with a split & work your way up...as needed/wanted. Bon Voyage!!!
Pam Posted April 23, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 23, 2015 (edited) I agree with wripro, have your travel agent make the request. A friend of mine (and of several people on this board) requested Tab, long after it was popular. She got it. They are most accommodating. Enjoy your cruise, you are a hero in my books. I have had friends with ALS. Edited April 23, 2015 by Pam
Travelcat2 Posted April 24, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 24, 2015 While I have not seen Styrofoam or paper cups on board, they do have plastic. Not sure if they are light enough for you. In any case, have a wonderful time on your Regent cruise.:)
