AC on the Valor

Just wondering if the rooms get cold/cool?? Been on several ships lately that would not cool down know matter what we did. On the Sunshine in February, those were the BEST rooms we have ever had on a ship. They were cold, and felt wonderful. You know the type room, you take a shower and then dry off 3 times before you can get your clothes on to go to dinner, and then still feel like you need another shower as your eating dinner. HAHA waiting to hear.

I was on the Valor in October and was concerned myself that the AC may not be adequate based on a few threads I has read prior to my cruise. I was happy to find the AC working perfectly in my stateroom though! I also read somewhere here that the quality of the AC depended partially on which part of the ship your cabin is, so there's that to consider. My Valor Stateroom Panorama, starboard front of the ship was fine though.

My room better be cold for me at night, going through my changes and the worst thing would be sweating at night and not getting sleep. My room is forward on upper deck balcony, we booked this cruise only a handful months back and needed three rooms together so the upper deck was our only choice which is fine with us one deck below and we have the casino lol.

Thanks!!!! I can't stand being hot in my cabin....taking my small fan to circulate the air. Hopefully the AC will be working. Our room is one of the Scenic OV and we know to keep blinds drawn to cut down on heat in the room, so hopefully we'll be fine. If not CUSTOMER SERVICE will be seeing me often..LOL. Last time on the conquest the room would not cool lower than 73 and at times registered 76. Was told by CS that it was acceptable by CCL standards. REALLY???? If this happens again someone with strips on their jacket will be in our room because it's not acceptable to us. 10 days before we leave and 12 till we board the ship!!! WHOOP WHOOP!!

It's 44 degrees today here and have the furnace running. I would gladly take a room at 76 degrees with no problem.

Snow flurries up in the NC mountains this morning but I will not be pleased with a 76 degree cabin. I think it is hit or miss. I've seen threads saying that it is too cold and some saying it is too warm.

I can put enough clothes on to stay warm, but I promise I CANT take enough off to cool down....[emoji29]

In your cabin you will be ok to take off as much clothes as you want but out on the hall ways I think it would be frowned upon by some. LOL

I've been taking a small fan on my recent cruises and it helps! I sleep with a fan on at night so asked our cabin steward about it once and he brought me a box fan for my room. After that I've just brought my desk fan and pretty much keep in running the whole cruise. I'm honestly not sure if it's against the rules however I've brought on Carnival, RCCL, and Princess. I believe it was the Carnival Liberty that gave us the box fan.

  • 3 weeks later...

We just got off the Valor on 5/3. We had cabins 8361 & 8365 and our air worked great. I was actually cold in my cabin a lot! I turned the air back a little on the 3rd day because I would shiver at night. LOL The casino was freezing too!

Got back off the Valor, we had an SOV on the Lido deck. Our AC was freaking AWSOME!!! We couldn't figure out how to get it if Celsius, so I think 17 Celsius is 62 Fahrenheit.. I know our room steward thought we were from Siberia, we had 2 small fans running at night, one aimed at each bed. Now that's what I call an AC...
