Grand Princess changes in May

Does anyone know if there is a Thermal pool on the Grand Princess and how much are they charging?

From the deck plans it looks like they only have steam and sauna.

The Grand has quite a few leaks in cabins, hallways, etc. so chances are they'll be repairing those. Don't need a dry dock. Here's a photo of a pail catching dripping water outside the wedding chapel.

Finally a real photo of the elusive leaks on the Grand. So it's not a myth. :)

Most definitely NOT a myth! We just got off the Grand and there were buckets everywhere, not to mention very strong mold smells! I had a great cruise, but wouldn't sail Grand again unless she had some work done to rectify this!

Amazing... I went on the Grand to check her out, about 1.5 years ago. I totally missed the buckets and mold smell, even though I am very allergic to mold... I guess I am just lucky.

We had a mini suite forward... no problem at all, I guess there must be problems in the back of the ship.

Had the best service in the MDR.... would look forward to cruising on the Grand again, even as old as she is, I was on the first cruise out of Istanbul, in l998.

Would guess the wetdock will help on the problems.

A lot can happen in 1-2 years. It seems to be getting worse. :(

I agree! We just got off her in April and had two rooms at the very aft of Baja deck (one suite, and balcony next door). We couldn't even use the balcony due to the mold smell (mom is highly allergic) so ended up all staying in the suite! Pretty much every deck had a bucket or two!

I just got off the Grand this morning in Vancouver. I did the 10 day coastal.

I can honestly say that I have nothing to complain about. I was very concerned about all the negative comments.

They were replacing carpet on the ship the whole trip.

Only saw 1 bucket and no fans. There was no smell on Caribe deck.

Our cabin was great.

Service and food was awesome and so was the entertainment.

I honestly thought it was in better shape then the Crown Mexican cruise I did last Feb.

The Grand is going into a 10 day wet dock in North Vancouver and they are replacing the carpets, doing some work in Sabatini's and lots of work in the crew area.

The Crown is going to Victoria for a 3wk dry dock and is getting a lot of work done.

Thanks for the positive update. We're heading up there in three weeks for our first Princess Cruise. Can't wait!!

other than the cabin closets are smaller as is the bathroom. The internet was very slow or non-existent in the cabins but was fine down on the Plaza deck and most other venues.

I wouldn't hesitate on going on her again:D
