earliest disembarkation time in Rome

Hello,

What is the earliest that we can expect to disembark the Zuiderdam in Rome after an 11 day cruise? (it looks like it's the only ship in port on that day which is a Saturday) The itinerary says 7:00 am but I seem to remember from 2007, that it was closer to 5:30. Has anyone been this year?

Thanks!

We left the Prinsendam at Civitavecchia (after a sea day) in May 2014. From my notes, I wrote "Ship arrived at 6:00 AM and the disembarkation process began around 7:30 AM after all the bags had been off-loaded. We left the ship around 8:15 AM, found our pick-up and were on our way by 8:40 AM. It was a Saturday - little traffic and arrived at FCO by 9:30 AM".

When we disembarked there happened to be one of those notorious Italian strikes that day. Although we were one of the first in line to self disembark, the process began about 20 minutes after the scheduled arrival time. We ended up waiting an additional hour outside the ship and were not allowed to enter the terminal as they were waiting for Italian officials to arrive. Not sure if they were delayed because they were a) Italian or b) the strike, but DH nearly missed his flight. The zinger- those delayed Italian officials just stood at the door and didn't even check passports, etc. We just walked through once they arrived!

Moral of the story, next time we will not book an 11:30 flight out of FCO on disembarkation day!

We just got off the Zuiderdam this morning 5-6-15 and the earliest anyone was allowed to disembark was 7:30am even thought we got in there around 6:00am. There were 5 ships in and we did not get the all clear to go ashore until 7:30. We were scheduled for a 7:30am time but our color and numbered were not called until closer to 8:00am. Authorities were a little slow in clearing the ship.

We disembarked from the Zuiderdam yesterday in Civitavecchia. The earliest was about 7.15am. The ship was docked by about 6.00am but was not cleared by the authorities until 7.15am. The CD apologised at about 7.05am for the delay. Co-incidentally the only other port there was any delay in clearing the ship was in Venice - another Italian port.

We were supposed to self-disembark (take our luggage off ourselves) and got hung up in a major jam on Deck 1. Elevators wouldn't go to A deck and they dumped HAL excursion folks into the mix. Quite a mess.

We left our Stateroom at 8.20am and were in the Limo with our luggage at 8.35am. Arrived at our apartment in Rome at 10.10am.

We barely got our 8am cab. We were scheduled for 7:15-7:30 disembarkation. Once we made it to A Deck, we flew through the process. For us, the hang up was the crowd on Deck 1 and lack of elevator service to A.
