mominhouston Posted May 13, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 13, 2015 what time do you need to disembark from ship at final port?
Ski Mom 2 Posted May 14, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 14, 2015 On our Panama Canal cruise in January 2015 we were scheduled to dock in Costa Rica on our final day at 6 am. I think they wanted us off around 8:30 am but I'm pretty sure we left later than that. I do remember we were the first ones on the cruise and the last ones off :) What I thought was the coolest part was that the captain was there to greet us when we first arrived and he was there when we departed as well. milepig Posted May 14, 2015 #3 Share Posted May 14, 2015 Be prepared to be pretty much thrown off ASAP. You'll fill out a form about how you're departing - ship's transfer/tour, early flight, later flight, on your own, etc. Based on your response they'll leave color coded tags in your room that you put on your bags that they typically want outside your cabin the night before. I think they then also say what time each group is disembarking but I can't remember. The morning of departure they'll call the groups along the lines of "purple group is now departing", you'll get your passport and you leave, They'll call the "on your own group" last, but the whole process doesn't take all that long. I'd say to not plan on lingering - they want you OFF! Which is only fair, they need to turn around the entire ship in just a few hours.
mominhouston Posted May 16, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted May 16, 2015 Thank you. Do you recall what time they began calling the color codes to disembark? 7:30am, 8am?

Strenz Posted May 17, 2015 #6 Share Posted May 17, 2015 I have never felt rushed getting of the ship at all. I have lingered off many times at 9. It is respectable to get off so they can get the ship ready, rushed or pressured to get off never, 16 times. Susanne

Sort of like when they say your group is leaving at 9 everyone is in the lounge waiting to go. We've never tried to linger, mostly since we have plans and are ready to go. I've never stayed to the end so have no idea if at some point there's a general "time to leave now" announcement.
2LoveToTravel Posted May 21, 2015 #8 Share Posted May 21, 2015 We have never been rushed either, and tend to leave about 9AM. They do have a quick turnaround and much to do in a short period of time....but most importantly is to be out of the guest room, as the public rooms have already been cleaned for the next cruise.
