I found a site called Taxi Fare Finder ( www.taxifarefinder.com )

 

Wondering if it is giving me accurate prices for the Fort Lauderdale area?

 

For example it lists (including 15% tip it says):

 

Sleep Inn, Dania, FL to Port Everglades--$20

 

Best Western, Dania, FL to Port--$22

 

Comfort Inn on Federal Highway to Port--$7

We have used and been happy with their quotes fro other cities, so should be reasonably accurate.

I think they underestimate Ft Lauderdale fares. The total is close to what they say, but not including the tip, and without any traffic.

You should budget for the Traffic Heavy estimate and be prepared for more than a bit higher, especially on a weekday.

 

I rechecked the Best Western Airport South and it came up $18.77/$19.99/$25.30 for no/light/heavy traffic respectively. I live a couple miles west of there and the last two times I taxied home from the port around 9/9:30 on a weekday morning it ran me $35-40 with tip.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I kind of wondered if the fares were a little on the low side. It seems like most every other fare estimate I have read has been higher. At least it will give me a ballpark estimate.
