Joby Posted May 14, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 14, 2015 I found a site called Taxi Fare Finder ( www.taxifarefinder.com ) Wondering if it is giving me accurate prices for the Fort Lauderdale area? For example it lists (including 15% tip it says): Sleep Inn, Dania, FL to Port Everglades--$20 Best Western, Dania, FL to Port--$22 Comfort Inn on Federal Highway to Port--$

royalcruz Posted May 15, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 15, 2015 (edited) I think they underestimate Ft Lauderdale fares. The total is close to what they say, but not including the tip, and without any traffic. Edited May 15, 2015 by royalcruz
fishywood Posted May 15, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 15, 2015 You should budget for the Traffic Heavy estimate and be prepared for more than a bit higher, especially on a weekday. I rechecked the Best Western Airport South and it came up $18.77/$19.99/$25.30 for no/light/heavy traffic respectively. I live a couple miles west of there and the last two times I taxied home from the port around 9/9:30 on a weekday morning it ran me $35-40 with tip. Joby Posted May 15, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted May 15, 2015 Thanks for the comments everyone. I kind of wondered if the fares were a little on the low side. It seems like most every other fare estimate I have read has been higher. At least it will give me a ballpark estimate.
SNJCruisers Posted May 18, 2015 #7 Share Posted May 18, 2015 Remember to use Uber or Lyft and their free promo codes if you're staying at a hotel pre-cruise and you want to go out for dinner.
