Oregonpoppa Posted May 17, 2015 #6 Share Posted May 17, 2015 Leaving Seattle next Saturday on the Westerdam and just saw that the temp in Juneau on the day we'll be there will be 81 and sunny. Didn't think we'd be going from Oregon's cool dampness to the tropics!

I guess I never really paid attention before. Oh yes, on line registration was completed the day the cruise was booked. On all of my other cruises the doc's were available just after the final payment date. Must be the land tour holding things up.

We will be with friends: Glenna and Dave, maybe you'll recognize Dave as he is about 6'5". :DWe all like to listen to music in lounge/bar areas. sotiris Posted May 18, 2015 #15 Share Posted May 18, 2015 We are in Denali right now (2:30 on May 17) and it is glorious. Not a cloud in the sky and many folks are in short sleeves. We are just waiting for our Wilderness Tour. Hopefully we will see some animals. Saw some moose and trumpeter swans on our way from Anchorage yesterday. Mt. McKinley was absolutely spectacular. The conductor even stopped the train for photo ops. Will write more later.

Not much information given on website as to what we do each day....seems like a lot of free time or extra tours to purchase. Does anyone know how the extra tours to purchase work? Do you purchase ahead of time or in Alaska? Why the lack of information?

Do you purchase ahead of time or in Alaska? Why the lack of information? I'll return from Cruisetour 5b at end of june. I'll give details but the first day you meet your land tour director, and he/she will sell you land tours and as well sell the upgrades to TWT. Celebrity doesn't let you see/buy anything in advance. The RCCL site has the same tours and a little more information. There is slightly more info in your final documents from Celebrity.
RaiderCruiser Posted May 28, 2015 #24 Share Posted May 28, 2015 My wife and I just completed (May 13 - 20) our first Alaskan cruise on Coral Princess. I am in the process of writing a review, but I will say it was more spectacular than I would have ever imagined. I spent a lot of time preparing for the trip and it paid off. We were certainly flexible with our schedule, but I felt I had a pretty good "lay of the land" while on the ship, as well as our ports. I'll be happy to answer any questions, but I will say again, it was outstanding.
