How Formal - 5 day Western Caribbean Princess

How formal of a dress should I get for a Princess 5 day Western Caribbean cruise in October?

I found 2 dresses that I like...

The Calvin Klein one is simpler and I can dress it up with jewelry, and is more my style and I feel like I would be comfortable in it.

The JS Collection one is super fancy but I really like it. I just don't know if it is too formal.

It's really up to you. Which do you think you'll wear more after the cruise is over? Which will make you feel the best wearing it? You'll find people dressed in all types of clothing on formal night as the definition of "formal" has become very inclusive on cruise ships in the last couple of decades. You wouldn't be out of place in either but keep in mind that shorter cruises are generally less formal anyways. So if you'd rather go with the more versatile piece and dress it up with jewelry thag might be the best option. I know that's what I'd do.

I actually think the 1st one is more "formal"! They will both be fine....it's either/or.
