quack2 Posted May 26, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2015 Is 1.5 to 2 hours enough time to do the Sea Life Center justice? I'm trying to squeeze it in between a Kenai Fjords boat tour and 9:00 p.m. cruise departure.
Northern Aurora Posted May 26, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2015 If you don't include one of their behind-the-scenes tours then 1.5 to 2 hours should be just fine.
zqvol Posted May 26, 2015 #3 Share Posted May 26, 2015 While Seward is small be sure to allow for travel time. It is about a mile (20 minute walk) from where the Kenai Fjords Tour disembarks down to the Sea Life Center, and then about 1. 5 - 2.0 miles (30 - 45 minutes) back to the pier where you will board your cruise. Also remember that you have to be on the ship no later than 7:00 p.m. (2 hours prior to sail-away.)
donaldsc Posted May 26, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 26, 2015 The behind-the-scenes tours are extremely interesting if you can squeeze them in. We have done the puffin and the octopus tours. DON
BrusselsGirl07 Posted May 26, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 26, 2015 I hope you get to visit the SeaLife Centre, it is just wonderful. We also did the Puffin and the Octopus encounter - the Puffin encounter was my favourite. Without the encounters, 1.5 hours at a minimum would be enough to visit the centre. Our day out on the Kenai was also a fantastic experience, but we did that the day before. We visited the Sea Life Centre the next morning and boarded the ship that afternoon. Sounds like you don't have as much time - but hope you have a wonderful day.
Tee & Chilli Posted May 27, 2015 #6 Share Posted May 27, 2015 If pressed for time a taxi is about $5 from the SeaLife Center to be pier. There is also a free bus that runs every 30 minutes.
