Thank you for a nice positive review! Can't wait to go on BA in July!

We will try Moderno for breakfast on sea days. I hear they do a nice lunch buffet too. Did you get to go there for lunch? Do you know if this is also only offered on sea days?

How bad was the line at Uptown Grill? Would love to go there for a burger the first sea day for lunch!

Thanks! That was my other possible plan. We are casino guests, so we will be among the first on the ship, and we always sit down for a MDR lunch upon embarkation only. So, I figured if I couldn't get iConcierge working in the terminal, I would take care of it while we are sitting down for lunch.

We used it and the times available were terr ble 9:30 for most. I called day 2 central reservations and took what I could get except Le bistro. I thought about just walking up and seeing if they had a table for 2 but decided just do MDR for the 2 nights we didn't have reservations at a specialty restaurant. Once I cslled I was able to get reservations for the most part at 7:15 or 7:30 which is when we like to have dinner.

Welcome home!

Glad you had a nice time on the BA.

I sail on the BA June 28th I tried to book Le Bistro but its sold out already on my cruise for online booking is what I was told by an NCL rep. I will try once I board.

No never went for lunch. Did go to uptown grill love their burgers. 45 minute wait but worth it as well. Beware if it's windy out you should get it to go and eat it elsewhere. We were frozen and had to bring it down to deck 15 buffet to eat it without shivering.

Is it possible to walk into OSH and just grab a cup of coffee or two?? Its the closest restaurant to my stateroom and I want my wife to wake up to a cup of coffee and I don't want to have to walk a marathon to get it!!

I appreciate you taking the time to post a review. I will be sailing in Oct. and was getting concerned with all the mixed reviews. I have sailed NCL previously but first trip on BA. Also in M6 which sounds like good choice as we prefer good size balcony. Normally I don't pre-book specialty restaurants but after reading your review I will for this trip. I do have a question, with all the changes lately I'm unsure if I need to make show reservations? If I do need to make reservations-when do the show reservations become available?

Thanks,

Paula

Paula show reservations will be available at the 90 day mark on your MY NCL for reservations for shows and dinner. Yes you need reservations for all shows. They do have stand by seating right before the shows but I suggest making reservations. Why stand in line if you don't have to

Glad the cruise was good. It's a shame about the wind in Bermuda. I just have a couple questions.

As far as the specialty restaurants where you ate, were there several empty tables, or was in fact the entire restaurant full? Just asking, because we have always had good luck just walking up and getting in and I have seen several report the places seem half empty although it was difficult to get a reservation. I would think they would not book to 100% capacity.

Did you order room service at all or talk to anyone who did? Still waiting for confirmation of whether or not the delivery fee is waived if you order a drink with your order.

Sorry I wasn't observant of empty tables. They all seemed pretty full when we went though.

I didn't order room service at all during my cruise. Personally I don't think the food available on it is very appealing so didn't try. I went and got my coffee on the waterfront every morning.

My husband and I also just returned today. The weather was awful in Bermuda but we still had a great time, just not at the beaches. First time on NCL and we loved it!! Made some reservations prior to sailing and some on the ship when we boarded, we had no problems getting times at decent hours. The Noodle Bar was great! We had no problems bringing food out of the Garden Cafe. Ordered room service once, Caesar Salad & a BLT, both delish! We usually cruise RCCL but we think we found a new cruise line to sail with. We really liked NCL. Service was excellent and friendly. Jeffrey, our cabin attendant was perfect. We thought the food was excellent everywhere we ate at any mealtime. Looking forward to cruising again with NCL.

Just back from breakaway today. Love the ship. My third time on her never gets old. Just a couple FYIs. Had dinner in cagneys asked if I could take my desert. Waiter said he would check thinks they changed back policy. When he came back we were told they would send it to my cabin, no problem. O'Sheehans has a to go area for you to take your food. Was told by the host they changed the policy back again. So all is good food wise.

Was in an M6 mini suite large balcony 8134. Great balcony and bathroom. Balcony had 2 loungers, 2 chairs and a large table when we arrived. Our room steward Owen was fabulous. Always working and available. We made sure we tipped him well. Great guy.

Casino was not as crowded as in my past cruises. I was always able to get a machine I wanted or table. No huge wins this cruise from what I saw. There certainly were lots and I mean lots of people smoking just hanging around they were not playing no one said anything to them about it. Convenient locations to smoke on deck 8 waterfront by Maltings, deck 15 pool bar and enclosed area, vibe bar and spice H2O also allowed smoking by bar area.

Lots of chair hogs were in full force. Very crowded on sea days. Bermuda was a bust. Weather was horrible. Very very windy. Went to horseshoe beach snd got sand blasted. Also went to snorkel park beach and basically the same thing. There is free wifi at Bonefish Grill in bermuda port. Food was fabulous everywhere we ate. I strongly suggest making reservations before your cruise because it was impossible to get a table for Le bistro for any night and there were just 2 of us. Other restaurants had limited times available but were able to eat at cagneys, LaCucnia, tepanyaki and Modernos. MDR was also very good. Only place that kind of left a lot to be desired was O'Sheehans. Got a corn beef sandwich and it had one slice of corn beef on it lol really? Didn't bother to complain I still ate it. Wings were terrible they were soggy I like them crispy. Other than that breakfast was good in there. Burgers great at uptown grill. Buffet nice. Variety for breakfast s and lunch. Actually made it to Modernos for breakfast buffet fabulous alternative to buffet.

I also had a fantastic time on the cruise! We heard the reports from beachgoers on the 1st port day about how bad it was, so we stayed clear of the beaches this trip.

Booked a cabana in Vibe. The weather was great up there on the 1st sea day. But the other sea days were very windy. If I didn't have a cabana I don't think I would have spent as much time there.

Thanks again for organizing the meet and greet & slot pull. Great idea to skip the Wheel of Fortune and choose the other machine. It was nice walking away with a win!

  • 4 weeks later...

Geri~ My husband and I were contemplating taking this same cruise in June 2017 for our 25th anniversary, but after hearing about the America's Cup being in Bermuda at that time, we decided to go in June 2016 and take our teenage boys with us.

We have also decided to get a mini-suite with large balcony and an inside cabin. I saw that before your cruise you were questioning bed locations in the M6 as well. I've seen a lot of conflicting info in different threads.

A lot of people say when looking at the deck plans and the "fat" area of the M6 is near the balcony then the bed is next to the balcony. However, I read one comment that they were in rooms 8716, 8718, and 8720, all of which had the beds next to the balcony. This doesn't make sense to me when looking at the deck plans.

Was your bed next to the balcony? Do you know for sure how to determine the bed location? Thanks for your help!
