CathyCruises Posted June 7, 2015 #7 Share Posted June 7, 2015 I'm not sure what kind of information you're looking for. You have booked a 2C partially obstructed balcony. That means that the top of the lifeboats will come approximately to the floor of your balcony so you won't be able to look straight down at the water but your view out will be unobstructed. It's reasonably close to the midship elevators which is a convenient place to be located. The bed will be by the balcony. We were recently in 6218 which is a 2B and we were very happy with the cabin. The only possible issue is that there is smoking allowed on deck five in that approximate location. I have never seen very many smokers congregated there and I doubt that it's going to be an issue, although you may get an occasional whiff of smoke. Is there something else that you're specifically inquiring about?
micmacmissy Posted June 7, 2015 #8 Share Posted June 7, 2015 The 2Cs are not so bad, and it's nice being close to the water line. Check out my Silhouette review in my signature; it has lots of photos of the 2C balcony and the obstructions.

Is there something else that you're specifically inquiring about? I was under the impression that smoking was only allowed on the port side. Did I misinterpret or did you notice smoking from cabin 6218. We just booked this cabin to steer clear of the smoke. Oh, I probably read this wrong. PS -- did you notice any noise from being right across from the I-lounge?? thanks
Tiggertastic Posted June 27, 2015 #10 Share Posted June 27, 2015 The op is in 6247 which is above the smoking area.

Rare Cruise Raider Posted August 5, 2015 #14 Share Posted August 5, 2015 No noise whatsoever being across from the iLounge. It's a fantastic location and I would take it again in a heartbeat :D I am not searching for a better cabin in that case. Sounds like this one will be great! We were in 6240 last year and heard there was all sorts of mechanical noise. There was but more like a white noise so didn't bother us in the least. We were so happy in that location and such a nice large balcony....even though we couldn't see forward. 6218 sounds like it is right up my alley....no noise from the hall and great viewing cabin. We thought it was ideal, and it was my first time on 6. I really liked it and found it very convenient. We used the stairs more than usual, always a good thing. ;)
Cruisn2015 Posted October 10, 2015 #16 Share Posted October 10, 2015 I'll be in the cabin on October 31. Can provide feedback after that time.
CathyCruises Posted October 10, 2015 #17 Share Posted October 10, 2015 Weirdly, we were just assigned 6257 for the Silhouette sailing next Saturday (10/17). We'd been waiting since early September to be assigned a cabin for our inside guarantee booking and yesterday finally got placed. We are more than thrilled with this cabin, considering the alternatives, and are excited to back on the 6th floor and very close to midship. The partial obstruction won't bother us at all. Just excited to have a balcony and fresh air. Thank you Celebrity!!!

We used the stairs more than usual, always a good thing. ;) I love being on Deck 6. We did that Solstice cruise in cabin 6240, stayed in Vancouver at the Pan Pacific overnight and caught a Princess cruise to sail back to our home port of San Francisco. On Princess, we chose a deck 10 balcony cabin. My DH and I both agreed, we sure loved the convenience of having a room on deck 6 on Celebrity. That barista shop was so convenient as were the specialty restaurants and casino. You are so right about the stairs. Anyway, now we almost exclusively book on the lower decks. Just so glad this isn't a noisy location!

Just wondering if it makes a difference to get an upgrade from a guarantee inside?
