Taking DVDs on Amsterdam

Hello,

 

I'm curious to know whether U.S. Region DVDs will work in the players that are on the Amsterdam (or the rest of HAL's fleet).

 

I know that there is a DVD library available and we may utilize it but we have some movies that we own that we haven't watched yet and we may not watch them trough in a single setting so we would hate to have one of the library's DVDs checked out for multiple days.

Yes they will, no problem! We have done it before on cruises with lots of sea days. Usually we have a hard time finding something available onboard that we want to see so this is a good option.

Yes - we usually bring some on a long cruise. One cruise, we had a bunch of sea days, my DH was a bit under the weather so he curled up and watched the entire Bourne movie series that we had brought along.

Even though we don't take any DVD's with us, I have looked at the list that is in a booklet by the TV and nothing there has appeal to us. I know -- we all have different tastes.

So if you have new ones you want to watch -- bring them.

We always take our favorite DVDs with us on HAL ships. Wish other cruise lines would have DVD players.

I have brought dvd's several times on Hal cruises, do not bring blue ray dvd's since they will not play

My DW and I spent time today in "heated" negotiations and have narrowed down the selections. It is good to know it was not time wasted. Thanks for confirming what we suspected about the Blue Ray.

 

Seems funny to bring DVDs on vacation but sometimes life is so hectic at home that sitting down to watch a movie is not an option. Isn't vacation all about doing things you cannot do at home . . . . ???
