Baba56 Posted June 8, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2015 We are booked on the Cloud for Oct cruise from Venice to Naples. We are visiting Florence and Venice before boarding. Packing is going to be a bit challenging. How formal is formal night for men? Yes I do realize what the definition means....but in our past experiences including Oceania Riviera it seemed very much a grey area. It says that it is black tie optional. I am wondering if jacket from black suit can double as dinner jacket for other nights. We do like to dress up so that is not the issue. Also wondered if tuxedo rental is available on board? Rare Silver Spectre Posted June 8, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 8, 2015 Yes it could, and no I do not believe that you can rent a tux on-board. If you were really desperate you could probably arrange to 'borrow' one from a waiter though.
duct tape Posted June 8, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 8, 2015 (edited) You could dine at an alternate venue if you wanted to do that. A dark suit is perfectly acceptable. SS is dressier than Oceania. Tuxes are not rented on SS ships. Enjoy! Edited June 8, 2015 by duct tape
wripro Posted June 8, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 8, 2015 I'm sure a dark blazer will suffice. That saves the trouble of packing an extra jacket since it can be worn on other nights as well.
