Seattle Transfer from Vancouver

Cruising on Celebrity for the first time next year on the Millennium Hawaii to Vancouver. With over 14 cruises on Princess, we are looking forward to a new experience. We are disembarking in Vancouver and we were wondering if Celebrity has transfers to the Seattle airport?

I would doubt it. It's a 3+ hour trip including crossing the Canadian/US border which could add another hour. Your best bet would be to either rent a car or take Amtrak.

We are going on the Solstice in Sept from Seattle. We found the easiest not the cheapest was to book air thru Choice Air .

Keep in mind that Amtrak goes twice a day . In the morning and evening.

There is a shuttle that leaves Canada Place and goes to Sea Tac.

We used the Quick Shuttle. It is very convenient, but there can be delays crossing the border and with traffic in Seattle, so you need a wide margin of error timewise.

We have used Quick Shuttle twice and would use it again. The bus pick up is in the cruise terminal so it is very convenient. They drop off at SEATCAC and 2 different downtown locations. As noted, boarder crossing can be quick or a little slow. Both times the driver has said that since the bus has only cruisers from one location it gets thru faster than other busses.

Just off Infinity June 7-Celebrity did not offer a transfer from Vancouver Canada Place to Seattle SEATAC- only from the port to Vancouver airport.

We took Quick shuttle -it was fairly disorganized and not sure I would do it again. Border crossing was pretty smooth -we took 5 hours to reach SEATAC.

Ihave thought of doing the shuttle next April.Please tell me the good ,the bad and the ugly - and price Did it drop you off at Seatac? Dying to knoe all about it.

Just a few weeks back we got off Jewel of the Seas (but Millennium was in port the same day), checked our luggage at the cruise terminal (7$/bag) spent the day in Vancouver, picked up our bags (must be done by 4:00PM), took a taxi to the train station (< $10 CAD), and then took the Amtrak Cascades (~ $40 pp) to Seattle. The trip on the train is 4 hours, but it is exceptionally scenic with all sorts of different landscapes and a spectacular sunset (ask to sit on the right side of the train).

 

You can walk about 200 ft from the train terminal in Seattle to the light rail and it's another 25 minutes to the airport.

 

Probably a little dicey to make the typical red-eye (we had no problems but Amtrak is known for en route delays due to freight traffic), but otherwise a really nice day to cure the "disembarkation blues."

The price was, I think, $59 each for one way passage. We began lining up in the port terminal after walk off the ship. The representative for Quick Shuttle showed up briefly at about 820 but then left. Close to 9 am he returned and we were sent out to the bus. Apparently the company had had an IT crash for a day or two before our scheduled trip so they had no log of who was to be on the bus or where any one was going. The luggage was loaded randomly on the bus ( instead of by destination) making unloading confusing and inefficient. One of the luggage doors was not closed tightly and opened while we were driving dumping about 6 bags on the road. Fortunately some of the passengers noticed and yelled so the driver stopped and reloaded those bags. He forgot to hand out the US Customs immigration forms when we boarded so had to stop just before the border to hand them out.

We made 2 stops in Seattle- downtown and SEATAC. When we arrived downtown, all the bags had to be unloaded to get to the bags for the passengers disembarking, and the reloaded for those going to SEATAC.

Hope we will be luckier as we are on the Quick Shuttle from Vancouver to downtown Seattle. We were charged $41 each one way. Since there are no more ships docking in Vancouver when we arrive on 9/22 maybe we will make it to Seattle a little quicker. We need to get to the hotel by noon as we have an excursion at 2:30 that same day. I'll keep my fingers crossed and perhaps make sure that the driver had out the immigration forms when we get on.

 

Our Travel Agent booked everything and since he lives in the Seattle area, should be aware of timing, etc. He's escorting a group this week to Alaska on Princess so I hope all goes well when we disembark by ourselves in Sept.

You can get the customs form online . You fill it out and then just print it. depending what time the bus leaves . You don't have a lot wiggle room for problems.

We will be using quick shuttle when we disembark from the Millie on July 3 and take it to SEATAC. Our flight isn't until the 4th so we will just use a hotel shuttle to and from the hotel. Would not attempt a flight back to the East coast the same day as the cruise ends.

We did something similar last year. We stayed in a Hilton that is across the street from the people mover to downtown Seattle. After check in and settling the bags we hopped on and spent time in downtown Seattle. The hotel is close to SEATAC. The trip to downtown is about 20 minutes. The underground Seattle tour is fascinating.
