Assigned Embarkation

We're sailing on Oasis of the Seas 6/13/15. We received an email with times to embark based on our deck. I've never seen this on any cruise line. We plan to ignore it and show up at 11:30. ;) I know it's for crowd control. Who else does this?

I wonder if the day will come that this will be enforced?? Heck, they don't even enforce dress codes so probably not!:)

I'm estimating that if 50% actually follow the rules it will shorten the lines. There is absolutely no way I'm waiting until 1:30 to board.

Yes. If the port building starts to hit critical mass the Fire Department will make them do something leading to enforcement

Our experience at US ports has been that check-in is usually open around 11am.

And, every time folks are told that this is a request and not a requirement.

I've only taken RCCL once and lines for embarkation was very long and we didn't have assigned time , on the other hand we took a few cruises on disney where we get assigned a port arrival time , and I can't remember lines to be as long as the ones for RCCL
