Chuck1965 Posted June 14, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2015 DW and I always play in the casino whenever we cruise. We usually only bring $200 each and if we lose that we quit. I see people losing a lot often. How much do you think the casinos make each cruise?

cb at sea Posted June 19, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 19, 2015 You would be surprised at how much some folks spend in the casino, hoping for that big win! Your gambling budget is fairly low, which is fine!!!
skeeter195 Posted June 19, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 19, 2015 For slots it all depends on what the payback percentage is set at. If it is set at say 90% payback, than if 1 million is put through then the casino will make $100,000. Now these are percentages are over a period of time and not guaranteed, but over a years time the amount the ship makes will almost spot on. Now tables are different and it depends on how every individual plays. There are also "sucker bets" with a huge house edge. An example is on one cruise in 2005 on the NCL Sun, I put over 1.4 million in play at blackjack. I played perfect basic strategy so the house edge was under 1/2 of 1 percent. So the casino should have made $14,000 on me. However I was able to turn the 1/2 percent house edge into a 3% edge for myself. Over time though the will get its 1/2 percent from a perfect basic strategy player. Now if someone was to play blackjack and put 1 million in play and stay on the wrong hands and never split or double down, the will get over $200,000 from them over time. So, it all comes down to the house edge on every game. Over time the percentages will be almost dead on.
