We would like to know if this is walking distance from the dock? Edited June 22, 2015 by bartsplace
Shmoo here Posted June 22, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 22, 2015 We will be docking at Aloha Tower area and want to visit the Punchbowl. We would like to know if this is walking distance from the dock? I think it's about a mile and half. Uphill. And then the cemetery itself is quite large.
Darcy15 Posted June 22, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 22, 2015 http://www.thebus.org/pop/memorial.asp The bus is also an option :) I've done it myself Punchbowl is very peaceful, quite moving to see the memorials ...and there are some excellent mosaics depicting the Pacific battles

I wouldn't do it. the entire grounds are very large and to get to the monument it's a bit of a hike. the Bus system is decent in Honolulu if you don't want to cab it. Rare Keith1010 Posted June 23, 2015 #5 Share Posted June 23, 2015 I would ask this on the Hawaii Ports of call Board. Keith

agabbymama Posted June 23, 2015 #7 Share Posted June 23, 2015 (edited) Google search the Punchbowl Cemetery and see the photos as it appears today. I had seen photos prior to the white crosses being removed, so was quite disappointed when we arrive at the Cemetery and found in-ground tablets instead. Just doesn't give the same somberness as looking at a field of crosses. JMHO Edited June 23, 2015 by agabbymama
