I called the Milestone desk yesterday and she assured me that there is no time frame. I told her the "letter" stated that it must be used in 18 months she said "I don't know why they do that". We are going to use ours in Jan. Pvp's,Milestone Desk etc. tell you no time frame but it is in writing that it must be used.i'm not comfortable with that!

I feel the same way about that, because it is a policy, and when they realize that some are getting past it, they may stop it. I don't take chances like that...:):)

Your choice but quite a few people are agreeing no time frame to use it.

Going to wait for a longer and more expensive cruise to take advantage of this.

In the tiny print at the bottom of my Milestone letter it says has to be used within 18 months of date on letter.

Remember, any time you talk to someone at Carnival the next 3 people there will give you a different answer.

exactly.. and this was what i was saying. You can get several different answers, all within a few minutes of each other... so for me anyway, I would always follow what is on the written letter.

I'd go with writing.

Keep in mind, the program can be changed at any time- so if it isn't in writing, you can't hold them to it.

We have been told by our pvp there is no time limit on using the milestone.

We used hubbies on Hawaii last year as it pays to do it on an expensive trip.

Waiting on a longer more expensive cruise to use mine.

It is not refundable obc so we had to scurry around last night using the balance up (shops were closed) and finally gave up and just gave some outrageously good tips to the crew.

can you use 25 milestone OBC in the casino????

yes but when we did it they charged us 3%.

Yes you can use the Milestone credit in the casino. It is posted on your Sign and Sail card just like any other credit.

Have no idea why they charged you anything unless you cashed out at a table game. You can cash out at a slot machine for free.

We wanted the $ 50 we had left in obc for playing at a table (roulette) and they charges us the 3% for the privelege.

Last night of the cruise and no stores were open and we had just had some drinks and it was either get rid of the obc or lose it.

Didnt remember the entire procedure for doing this for free at a slot machine so just did it this way.

Can you use a.milestone OBC to help pay for another cruise.

I don't believe you can. Your milestone OBC is applied on the cruise you choose but it is on board credit for you to use on that cruise. If you book a future cruise, the deposit for that future cruise is charged to the credit card they have on file for you and is not applied to your S&S account which has the OBC.

You can however get the cash via the casino and then use that cash to pay your credit card when you get home. A roundabout way but not directly using the OBC.

Terms and Condition (in fine print on the back of the Milestone letter)

•Milestone Reward is valid for its stated value in U.S. dollars, only on Carnival Cruise Lines, to be used as a credit on board a Carnival ship. The Milestone Reward is not valid on any other cruise line, including any affiliate of Carnival Cruise Lines.

•Milestone Reward is nontransferable, nonrefundable and has no cash value.

•Milestone Reward must be redeemed at least 30 days prior to sail date.

•Only one Milestone Reward is redeemable per guest, per booking.

•Even though the Milestone Reward expires 18 months from the date stated on the letter, it is no longer necessary to use within that time period.

The red highlighting is mine.

I thought I might as well post more info from Carnival. They don't indicate any restrictions on Milestone redemption for 25th, 50th, or 75th.

Milestone Recognition Program denotes a guest’s 25th, 50th 75th and 100th revenue cruise with Carnival. Guests will receive a special Milestone Sail & Sign card on their corresponding Milestone cruise. We want to distinguish guests on their Milestone sailing with a unique card so that we can make his/her Milestone experience extra special and memorable. After this milestone cruise, they will revert to the card that corresponds to their VIFP level. Guests will receive the full set of benefits according to their VIFP level. See sample Milestone card

In appreciation for their loyalty, we will be offer guests booking their 25th, 50th, 75th or 100th cruise, the following:

•When the guest books his/her 25th cruise, the qualifying guest will receive an onboard credit on his/her Sail & Sign account that is equal to the amount of 25% of the guest’s cruise fare including the non-commissionable fees

•When the guest books his/her 50th cruise, the qualifying guest will receive an onboard credit on his/her Sail & Sign account that is equal to the amount of 50% of the guest’s cruise fare including the non-commissionable fees

•When the guest books his/her 75th cruise, the qualifying guest will receive an onboard credit on his/her Sail & Sign account that is equal to the amount of 75% of the guest’s cruise fare including the non-commissionable fees

•When the guest books his/her 100th cruise, the qualifying guest will be entitled to a free cruise for two (cruise fare and non-commissionable fees) up to 8 days in duration to the Caribbean, Mexican Riviera or Alaska, in Category OS suite accommodations; the guests are responsible for all other fees and taxes, etc.

I don’t know if we will reach diamond. Only time will tell.

We will reach milestone. Not sure actually when it will be. My wife and I will both be doing our milestone cruise at the same time. A 50% OBC would be great.

A couple of cruises later our grandson will become milestone so he will get 25% onboard credit.

No, Princess and other lines do not count. Princess has their own program for milestones. Don't know about other lines. The only benefit that crosses over is the stockholder shares benefit because they are all under the Carnival Corporation umbrella

Hi. Just what does 25% of guests cruise fare including non-commissionable fees mean? Don't know what non-commissionable fees mean. Thanks Ros

I have no idea what they are referring to. I can tell you that for our 25th and 50th milestone credit the amount was the appropriate % of OBC from the Carnival cruise fare only. It did not credit us for any OBC of the port fees or taxes.

JH told us when we met him in March they were talking about combining loyalty programs but nothing since so dont think it will happen anytime soon.

A shame as we are now splitting time between CCL and Princess
