Can anyone tell us for sure if there is much noise from above in a Pacific Princess mini-suite (deck 8) with either the gym and some deck space.....or.....the entrance to the buffet and some deck space on deck 9? Thanks! We'd be paying extra, not a comp upgrade. :)

We have been in the front mini (8000 or 8001) on the Ocean (sister to Pacific) and had no trouble.

We were below the buffet, also on the Ocean and had some problems with noise from the carts as the loaded and unloaded the buffet

If the buffet entrance is from the outside deck on the port side, that's where the ping-pong tables are situated. You may get lots of noise from feet pounding the floor. I haven't been in the cabins underneath so this is only a possible source of noise.

They gym side deck space isn't used for anything in particular so you might be OK there. The most aft part of the gym itself is the open floor area where classes are held. Certainly won't be any noise after the gym is closed, there won't be any treadmill noise or noise from free weights being dropped, just when there are classes. Since most of the classes are low-impact stuff, the noise shouldn't be too bad. It's not Zumba. If you're an early riser, hey, get up and take a class!

Hope it works out. Nothing worse then noise from above. :(
