Beds in stateroom...gotta know

The answer to both of your questions is a resounding neither.

The "twins" that push together are slightly smaller than regular twins, so you get something between a queen and a king.

The pull out sofa is more the size of a double than either a king/queen/twin.

:p LOL I think I will agree that everyone disagrees on this one. :D

I would say that I win the bet! I'm going with the beds in the balcony/interior pushed together is a queen and the sofa is a "kinda" twin bed.

Winner winner chicken dinner. I think my daughter owes me....something...dinner...casino money...I'll think of something. Either way, I now have her talked into an interior and not wasting her money on a balcony thinking that it's going to have 2 queen beds. LOL :p

Thanks for everyones help.

I know this was our mini suite balcony something or other room on the Getaway and that's definitely not a queen sofa...but yet my daughter claimed it "pulled out" so I just thought that they didn't pull ours out all the way or something since we had a small child using it.

I agree with you. And....NCL'S website has it written in black and white if you look up 'balcony' rooms on the ship.

It depends what country you are from. In the UK a 5ft wide us a king, a 4ft 6 wide a queen and a 6ft wide a superking.

I'm from the US.

You people made me go measure my king bed at home.

My king sized bed measures 6' 4" wide and 6' 7" long. So I have a what? California King? :p

LMAO .... All of you can have your 'written in black and white' queen beds. I will keep my king and I guess continue to be served from the right. C'est la vie :D

CA King is 72X84, Standard King is 76X80 so at 76X79 you either have a standard king and you mis-measured the length or someone cheated you out of an inch.

I think I've been cheated! I need a refund! Oh well, I think it's time for a new bed anyhow. :D

Ha ha, non-US sizes for the rest of the world ... for those of you planning to sail & cruise in Asia (not that NCL has anything over the horizon, or even Star Cruises for its mostlly infamous "casino" runs) - be careful when booking a twin or double bed for 2 adults (of typical U.S. sizes) as you would be lucky to get a queen or even full size bed in U.S. specs.

These beds on the ships are roomy compared to those Amtrak roommette on the long distance runs (the Lake Shore, I think is still using them & never been on the "Auto Train" ones ... ) for the prices they are charging these days, even with all the discounts thrown in ... Or, for that matter - anyone been sleeping on those "first class" U.S. airline's $$$$ lie-flat seat lately.

LOL ... So true. Requested a king in Copenhagen, got a double pushed into the wall and against an eave. Fortunately, we were exhausted, the night was cool and it was PRE-cruise as opposed to 15lbs-more-post-cruise

Re: First class seats, we were upgraded to business lie flat and all David had to say was "I'm not wearing jeans on a lie flat airline bed again. Please get me some warmup pants for traveling !" Haha

I know right? Only me. :p A simple little question turned into a size lesson for me between what a king and california king is...at least I know now. :p

So heres the real question....What size sheets is NCL buying for these bed? ;)

Don't you know? They use queen flat sheets for all. No fitted sheets, just hospital corners. LOL. (some of you will know what I mean)

All I know is that as soon as I jump in bed, I pull and tug like if it was a competition with someone at the other end to get those sheets undone. I feel like I'm trapped when they are tucked in. :p

OMG.....a BIG pet peeve of mine! IF I can wiggle in, the bedding only goes up to my lower chest. They use about a 1/4 of the bedding to tuck the end in!

After too many times of circling the bed and pulling all of the bedding out every day, I finally decided to leave a note and/or tell my steward to not tuck it in. I don't know what took me so long to rid myself of the aggravation!

Oh there could be oh so much fun if you were "SHORT SHEETED" !

Of course we would not hear the end of it !

And from your post it looks like it has been done ! LOL !

But only at the bottom and they never tuck in the sides because they don't want to fuss with the metal brackets that keep the mattresses from sliding off the frame in heavy seas. Lol
