Adjoining guarantee cabins

I am thinking about booking a guarantee AQ cabin (cat XA) on Summit to Bermuda (significant savings over selecting cat A1 or A2) BUT we are traveling with another couple. If we both book guarantee cabins, is there a way to assure we will be next to each other, as we love to sit out on the adjoining balconies.

You can have your booking numbers linked to each other at the time you book the cabin. But there is no 100% 'GTY' :D that ya'll will be together.

No, there is no way! And why would there be?

With a guarantee stateroom you waive your right to choose certain staterooms or make any requests... in return you get a better price.

Can't have it all ;-)

 

If you want to make sure you get stateroom next to each other, you'll have to book the specific cabins for the regular price.

I would think not. The whole point of the guarantee booking is that, for the advantageous price, you agree to accept any cabin in the inventory of the guarantee or higher catefory. Placing any kind of condition on your reservation takes it out of the "guarantee" category.

No, you may be lucky and be able to swap if there are any available cabins in the same category to be near each other after assignment. However, there is also the possibility that you are assigned different categories too i.e. one of you gets an A1 and the other couple gets an A2. Additionally, you may be assigned your cabin soon after booking, and there's does not come through until just before sailing. There are no assurances when booking a guarantee - you take your chances and hope for the best.

Be aware that on the Summit, balcony dividers on Dec 9 (AQ2) CANNOT be opened. You will not be able to share balcony space with your neighbors. Don't know about Deck 11 (AQ1).

Once you are assigned a cabin, you could switch if one is or becomes available next to one another. If one gets an A1 and the other gets an A2, you are SOL.
