I've been looking at weather in Bermuda and all I'm seeing is rain, rain and more rain [emoji20] I'm arriving on July 12 th on the Norwegian Dawn. What is there to do when mother natures not cooperating. Has the weather been cool and rainy???

The weather is currently hot, 86 degrees, and dry. Sea surface temperature 83 degrees.

There is no way a weather forecast for Bermuda 8 days out can be considered accurate. I don't know what site you are looking at, but the only one with any worthwhile local information is weather.bm - other sites are vague approximations at best.

That's not to say it won't rain - we get about five inches of rain a month and at the moment we really need some rain, there's been less than 3 inches in the last month so we're all hoping for a good downpour; for most of us, our water comes off the roof and into the tank under the house.

Even if it does rain, it is unusual for it to set in all day - it generally lasts an hour or three and then clears up.

However, if it should be inclement I suggest:

In Dockyard the Bermuda Museum is a must-see.

Get a no. 7 bus to Hamilton, enjoy the scenic views of South Shore, then go to the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute just outside of Hamilton (ask the driver when to get off).

Get the blue ferry to Hamilton, brave the weather for 5 mins to get to the bus terminal, and catch the 10 or 11 to Flatts Village for the Aquarium and Zoo. Continue on the 10 or 11 to St Georges and visit the Bermuda National Trust properties Tucker House and the Globe Hotel. Have a well-earned beverage by the water at the White Horse, or lunch at Wahoo's Restaurant. Come back on the orange ferry.

Get the no. 1 or 3 bus from Hamilton to the Crystal Caves, then it's a very short walk to the Swizzle Inn for a rum swizzle, or more accurately for Bermuda, a Dark 'n Stormy. After sufficient Dark 'n Stormies, the weather becomes irrelevant.

Copying for future reference. We are planning on going in October and I'm now reading that this is the rainiest time in Bermuda...so you never know if you need back up plans. :)

I believe average rainfall in October is a little deceptive because it's distorted by the torrential downpours that accompany tropical storms and hurricanes. We like October because it's less humid...and lower humidity at least in theory should mean fewer pop-up showers.

My hubby has crutches so mobility is an issue with buses. I take it that taxis would be available once we get off ferry. This trip I really want to go to swizzle inn. Those other places look good too so I'll be doing a few of them rain or shine [emoji2]
