Tampa Girl Posted July 7, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2015 I just read on the Cunard website that women cannot wear sandals after 6:00 p.m. Does that mean even dressy sandals??? What other kind of shoe can you wear with formal wear? And is this really enforced?
Mysticalmother Posted July 7, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 7, 2015 Where did you read that? Sandals are fine for ladies, but not for men, after 6pm. If they didn't allow ladies to wear sandals I suspect there would be mutiny! Have a look here..... https://ask.cunard.com/help/life-on-board/dress_code Hopefully that will put your mind at rest:)
john watson Posted July 7, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 7, 2015 Sounds sensible to me; ladies wearing decent sandals, not flip flop type. Gentlemen seeking maximum podal ventilation would probably best advised to get a pair of decent shoes where they are of the woven leather style about the front area. Should have paid a little more attention to the semi-colon.
john watson Posted July 8, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 8, 2015 I have checked the link and apparently gentlemen may; on formal evenings, wear formal national dress and army uniform. Does anyone know if court uniforms are acceptable, obviously with the four star maximum protocol? Regards John
navybankerteacher Posted July 8, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 8, 2015 Sandals can be anything from flip-flops to really dressy - the look, rather than the term "sandal" should govern. I've seen some ankle length tee-shirts (with gas station logos) referred to as "long dresses" --- applied common sense should help.

john watson Posted July 8, 2015 #14 Share Posted July 8, 2015 What are Court Uniforms ?? I see you meant Royal Court. ????? I was joking really, they are the uniforms Princes, Dukes and Earls would wear in the presence of people like the monarch at the Royal Court. Ray66 Posted July 8, 2015 #15 Share Posted July 8, 2015 Isn't the Daily Mail the U.S. equivalent of the Enquirer? No, that would be the Daily Star. And it was the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror, the People and the News of the World that were part of the phone hacking scandal.
