Rare Jamman54 Posted July 14, 2015 Author #126 Share Posted July 14, 2015 DJ Miguel is spinning the tunes by the Spendido Pool….. The Splendido Pool Bar, starboard side….. Patti did eventually join me in the casino to play some slots, while I played blackjack. Let’s just say it wasn’t our day and leave it at that. Lol. Around 5pm we decided to head up to the Cloud 9 Spa and use our spa passes. This was a great time to go, as we had the place practically to ourselves. Here is one of our favorite places, the Tepidarium….. I just LOVE those heated loungers….. Nothing beats relaxing in the Thalassotherapy Pool….. The ceiling above the pool….. To be continued….. Rare Jamman54 Posted July 14, 2015 Author #129 Share Posted July 14, 2015 After about two hours, we showered at the spa (great showers there by the way), then made our way back to the cabin to get ready for Elegant Night Dinner. Here are a couple of pictures of tonight’s sunset….. Here we are enjoying some wine at dinner….. I started off with 2 orders of the stuffed white mushrooms….. Patti had the spaghetti carbonara as a starter…. To be continued…..
Rare Jamman54 Posted July 14, 2015 Author #130 Share Posted July 14, 2015 Patti had a caesars salad next….. While I had the alligator fritters….. We both enjoyed the lobster and grilled shrimp. I confess, I had 3 orders!!! For dessert, Patti had the caramalized apples…… While I enjoyed the cherries jubilee….. The waiters sang “That’s Amore” tonight. After dinner, Patti was feeling a little tired, so she went to check emails, then went back to the cabin. I went to the sports bar hoping to see the Women’s World Cup semi final between the USA and Germany, but no, the place was deserted, and there weren’t ANY games on. Geez!!! So I sat down at a blackjack table, and quickly donated a $100. I decided to go to the 11:30 comedy show starring Michael Macy, who was very good. I made my way back to the cabin, where earlier Patti had taken a photo of tonight’s towel animal, and our VIP gifts (travel game sets). It was another great day!! Coming up next: another relaxing sea day.
anonmom Posted July 14, 2015 #131 Share Posted July 14, 2015 Glad you are enjoying the review! Not really sure what you mean about the kids club. None of them on the Splendor are two levels. Camp Carnival, up to 11 years of age, is on deck 10. Circle "C", for the 12 to 14 year olds is on Deck 4 in the Atrium. Club O2, for the 15 to 17 year olds, is on deck 5. Shots from Club O2 were posted in the last segment, and we will be posting some from Circle "C", and Camp Carnival in upcoming segments. The only pay restaurant on the Splendor is the Pinnacle Steakhouse. Yeah, that's what it looked like from the deck plans, but the description of the Splendor from the ************* website says, " A water spray park, teen club and two-level, 5,500-square-foot children's play area (the largest in the Carnival fleet), makes this ship perfect for families." Maybe they just mean that they are counting both Camp Carnival and Circle C as "play areas" and one is on deck 4 and the other on deck 10, so it is technically two different levels? It just seems like word wording. My daughter is 4, so Camp Carnival is what I'm interested in. Please post any pics or schedules if you have them! Glad to hear about the restaurants! Everything you've posted looks so good and it seems like there's so much variety that I don't feel like we'd have to spring for the steakhouse at all, at least not for our first cruise. I did go back and read your repo review after I posted on here, which was awesome, too. I'm going to read your 2013 Splendor review now...

NCTribeFan Posted July 14, 2015 #134 Share Posted July 14, 2015 I do wish people wouldn't quote entire huge posts full of large photos. When you quote, you can edit, you know that, right folks? Right? :p Another vote for Huevos Rancheros for brunch! And we should have the new menus when I'm on her in October. I sailed with these so many times, yet I order the same things every cruise. I'm one of those that when I find something I like, I stick with it, even though I know if I order something different and don't like it I can request something else! I'm such a Creature of Habit! Good to see that there are actually BOOKS in the LIBRARY. I cannot tell you how disappointing it was on Conquest last month to walk in to trade in the book I'd just finished only to find that the bookcases were practically empty. There were lots of board games and one case full of some religious pamphlets. One other bookcase had about a half-dozen paperbacks that others had left. Luckily, I was able to find one I hadn't read (first one I grabbed was something I'd read; I may even have left it behind on a prior sailing!). Mary49 Posted July 14, 2015 #139 Share Posted July 14, 2015 Hi Jam - always love your review. I'm going back on the Splendor in September to say goodbye to Music Boardwalk before they break for vacation. I cruise solo and I keep watching for the prices to drop especially in August. But I don't think so. Got a good deal for September though. Great picture. You and GAPearl have the best reviews everytime. It really feels like we are all cruising together. Thanks so much Mary49
NCTribeFan Posted July 14, 2015 #140 Share Posted July 14, 2015 So I apparently missed the part where it was posted elsewhere that she would NOT be receiving the new menus soon. Oh well. I'll certainly not go hungry. Give me my chilled fruit soups, an occasional Caesar salad, entree, and rarely a dessert. I'll still leave the MDR stuffed. ;)

What I really like are your pictures around the ship and I have never been on the Splendor before. Also, I enjoyed your pictures sailing out of New York. It is so different than sailing out of a Florida port. Anyhow, thanks for your pictorial.
