Hi Esprit,

 

Putting aside your comments which I think a little I'll judged rather than any intent to offend. I was very interested in your comments about the Arandora Star. So I looked it up, very interesting. Not only was it not marked, but re-painted battleship grey, unforgivable. I found an interesting video on YouTube, from a man paying tribute the grandfather he lost on the ship. I was wondering if it was you.

 

Thanks for taking an interest in the Arandora Star tradegy. No, it wasn't me on Youtube. I did attend the 75th anniversary memorial mass at the Italian church in Clerkenwell on 2 July. It also coincided with a new book launch which includes a photo I was able to supply. Always a regret of mine never to have had a grand dad.

I was born in Liverpool, still have family there and would love to cruise from the Pier Head as an alternative to Southampton.

 

 

I would love to sail from the pier head as I have the haste to join the Britannia in Southampton in September!![emoji41][emoji636]

Yes, sorry if I upset you. I don't actually think that view of Merseyside, and especially Liverpool holds any more really.
