Had a great experience with the live chat function on the Holland America website. The live rep was able to answer my question about promotional rates and if any were sent to my home address and if I was eligible for any special rates. It was a great experience. In some cases, better than calling Customer Service. You all should give it a try. Do not be afraid. I usually hate chat, but this expeience rocked. Way to go HAL!

I also had a good experience when I booked my 3 day San Diego to Vancouver. While ultimately I booked via phone, the person on chat was very helpful in giving me great info.

 

I honestly HATE using the telephone, so chat is my favorite support option, whenever available.

Is this really a live person voice chat... like a telephone call? Or is it a text "chat" where you type questions and they type answers... more like texting? Thanks, m--

This is referring to a text chat, where you type back and forth with the support agent.

I like the ability to print out the conversation. Have never needed to document wrong info given but I always print/keep a copy in my cruise folder just in case.

Where do you find "chat" on the HAL website?? I looked up "contact us" on the HAL website and I could not find it.

I just checked the HAL website, can no longer find the link to Live Chat, it used to be at the top of the HAL front page.

The "Help" Heading gives a link to the HAL NZ agent.

When the Chat line is available, it is located at the top of the home page right next to the phone number. I used it yesterday, a question about visas, you then can email the response to yourself so you have the written response.

HAL Chat is great! Answered 3 questions, plus you can email yourself the script for reference.

I loved being able to search online, book and pay for my cruise without having to talk to anyone. HAL is the first cruise line I have done that with and it worked out great. :)
