On a Liberty review, it shows the solarium open at the top. I do not remember Freedom's being open. Is Freedom open and I just forgot? Or do they open/close the solarium from time to time?

Freedom and Voyager class solariums are always open. They have no cover at all.

I find it funny how your memories/perception changes over time.:rolleyes: It seems like I felt it was "stuffy" feeling and I did not spend much time here. Looking at this picture, I would say there is no way that area would feel stuffy. Looking forward to trying it again. The solarium was one thing I did enjoy about Celebrity Summit. :)

That is funny because I actually thought the Solarium was stuffy on the Oasis and wished it wasn't covered to get more of a breeze. It's like a greenhouse in there!! We went in July. We are going at the end of March this time. Hoping it won't be as hot. It's a very relaxing place to hang out!

That's how it was on Radiance class...totally enclosed, despite lovely weather....what a waste of space.

I certainly understand that sentiment. At 56 and having cruised 10 years, I find I trust my memory a little less. This topic in particular was of recent discussion for me. I went on Freedom for the 2nd time with the idea of comparing it to Allure. I cruised the 2 of them several years apart and the Freedom Solarium was one of the things I liked better than Allure.

The solarium is beautiful but still hot. The class on the sides blocks the breeze.

Love the solarium spend a lot of time there but the ones with the roof are just ridiculous in the Caribbean.
