Just got the CALL of all CALLS...

We always book balcony staterooms. We love to have breakfast room service and sit on the balcony. But for a free cruise, we would endure an inside cabin. note sarcasm. However why they would turn down cash for an upgrade seems like a very poor financial decision.

Congratulations OP, a great deal. Have a wonderful time. I'm getting ready to take my 19th cruise with Carnival, in Aug. I've never gotten any kind of offer "free" or reduced. I also spend time in the casino, 2 or 3 hrs on sea days, and every night. NADA from the casino as well.

Guess Carnival knows they've got me hooked, so they don't have to send me anything to keep me sailing. Bummer

My hubby says the same thing, and he has 4 more carnival cruises under his belt than I do. He spends time in the casino, just not as much as I do, but with all his cruises he never gets anything. I told him luckily youre married to me and can reap the benefits lol. I hope you have an awesome time on your upcoming cruise!:)

I too thought the same thing! I figured that's more money for them. But whatever floats their boat:D

Wow. Just. Wow. Really?

It must be nice to be so elite that one can turn down a free cruise based on the cabin category. I bet you return holiday gifts if they didn't come from the "right" store.

If I ever reach that level of elitism, somebody please shoot me.

When we got our free cruise last year we got the best available cabin- a deck 11 balcony on the Breeze 8 night. We would have declined if it was for an inside cabin.

Bitter, table for one, Bitter? Who says that kind of thing?

OP, congrats and happy anniversary I hope you have the most amazing cruise ever!

I actually did and my PVP said that Carnival just gives them a random list of people to call all the time. But my husband is always asking that because he is a Gold member, had done several cruises before we were married, and he never gets a call or even an email with any offers. He laughs that Im a newbie yet I always get calls for upgrades and different offers all the time.

I find that my wife is always the one that gets all the mailing and phone calls. And I'm the one that makes the reservations and all the planning.

What's up with that???

Wow, Congratulations! Isn't it amazing how you guys were just talking about leaving out of a different port and for your anniversary....and then that was one you could pick! Must have happened for a reason! Congrats again!!

Do you have to actually answer the phone to get these free cruises? I wonder if they would leave you a message or just move on to the next person on the list?

No. We just got a message. Also it showed up under my offers on their web site.

Congratulations and happy anniversary!!!

Reading your post made me check the Carnival website for any VIFP deals for me, no such luck. Guess we can't all be so lucky!!!

BTW, I'm with you, I would take a freebie inside any day if it means I can cruise again.

.... and please save a bullet for me as well! Just simply amazing.

When I pay full price, yeah sure I pay for the balcony, but I actually got the same offer as OP did and I took it faster than a speeding bullet (pardon the pun). For a freebie, hell I will sleep on deck if I have to. Victory, August 22.

Happy Anniversary OP!

Don't lose hope! My 19th Carnival Cruise is a freebie like the OP's on the Victory next month. And yes, I too spend a LOT of time in the Casino.

Let's just say even if you are in a position to turn down a free cabin because it is an inside and not a balcony why would you even bring it up in this thread.

Yes Really
