faith1989 Posted July 22, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 22, 2015 Are lanyards free on Carnival Cruise? If so, where do you pick them up.
Katfncy Posted July 22, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 22, 2015 You can take your card to the casino and they will punch a hole in it and give you a stretchy one
DarthGrady Posted July 22, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 22, 2015 The stretchy ones from the casino are also nice because they've got a clip on one end. It's useful if you like to clip it to your belt loop and put the card in a pocket.
nwcruiselover Posted July 22, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 22, 2015 I like the ones from the gift shop better than the plastic stretchy ones from the casino. They cost about $5.00 but you can use them over and over. I like the fact that the part where you attach your S&S card can be unclipped from the lanyard to hand to a bartender or gift shop employee. They come in red and blue.
Rare Saint Greg Posted July 22, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 22, 2015 I got a regular lanyard applying for a carnival MasterCard. Got another going to the thing near the end of the cruise where they tell you about future cruises.

Dream, Conquest, Miracle, Splendor, Glory. and Freedom and Legend this year. Edited July 22, 2015 by Budget Queen
13cheermom Posted July 22, 2015 #8 Share Posted July 22, 2015 They also have them in the photo area for free with purchase of a photo. We got 2 of them in June, have the metal clip and plastic sleeve attached. We just removed plastic sleeve and attached clip through hole in S&S card and wore it around our neck. Plan to take them on the next cruise, worked great (free). Also noticed our S&S cards already had the hole punched in them when we boarded the Glory. Anybody know if this is fleet wide? kona_wahine Posted July 22, 2015 #10 Share Posted July 22, 2015 We purchased some specifically for cruising. Mine is like a bead necklace and DH has a black one with Chevy symbols on it. Matches his earring. Lol
CaCanCop Posted July 22, 2015 #11 Share Posted July 22, 2015 I bought a nice black leather lanyard/card holder from Walmart. Clear plastic front for s&s card and slots in back for card used for safe, ID or CC when at port. Less than $10 and have used it for last 4 cruises. CocoCandy Posted July 22, 2015 #12 Share Posted July 22, 2015 This type of detachable strap lanyard works great also and you can re-use them for future trips. It is easy to quickly to use your card to open the door to your cabin or to hand it to the staff to scan when getting off at ports. We just ask the casino staff to punch a hole in our card when we board. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Heavy-Duty-Breakaway-Lanyard-With-Detachable-Key-Ring-P-N-2135-4541-/221187346099?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item337fcb0eb3

Just off sunshine and our cards were hole punched when they handed them to us. Other people I met onboard said they had to go to guest services/casino to get their cards hole punched. Not sure why some get it and not others.

We sailed on the Breeze this past May out of Miami, and when we got our S&S cards, they were already punched. That's weird. We did a B2B on the Breeze in May and our cards were not punched. We are platinum and our cards have never been punched.

If you look at the cards that John Heald has posted recently on his FB page, they have all been prepunched as of late.

It saves the casino cashiers and GR people from having to punch 500 holes.
kelkel2 Posted July 22, 2015 #18 Share Posted July 22, 2015 Do you have to go relatively early to the casino to get one of these lanyards? Do they typically run out? Or if I go after dinner on the first night will they still have them?

maldenmusic Posted July 22, 2015 #20 Share Posted July 22, 2015 On my 9th cruise last month, the sail and sign cards came with a hole already punched. I'd never seen that before. And since I'd brought my recycled casino lanyard from previous cruises.with me I was good to go.
near the beach Posted July 22, 2015 #21 Share Posted July 22, 2015 We have not yet received a card with a hole already in it. May be because some passengers have no need for it. It could be the blank card stock Carnival is now purchasing has the hole already in it. We have had a hole punched into our cards in the casino and t guest services. Sometimes it is round and others it is an oval.
