We he a TA that wont help us anymore. Its way after final payment. Can we get anyone to hep us with better last minute pricing?? We are Captain's Club Select if that helps.

Huh? If it's after final payment, you can't get your price lowered. Those are the rules. Has nothing to do with your TA.

If there is a regular published rate on the X website (not Xciting deal, group, etc) for a higher class cabin for same $ or less, you may request to change to that cabin. Your TA has to handle it, can't call X, (extra work for no extra commission) so it helps to have a good relationship. Also know the remaining inventory before requesting an upgrade to be sure it would be an improvement in location. Moving from a good CC to the last remaining AQ may only be a benefit if BLU is important to you.

You will not get money back after final payment though you can pay more if you wish :)

I believe there are resident or senior rates available on the cruise now. If you qualify for one of those and you pay just a little more to move to a higher category it could be accomplished. Your TA would have to do it for you and should have no reason to deny you. He wouldn't lose anything.

I believe you said on the roll call that you are in an inside now so there wouldn't be perks to lose.

Get a new travel agent for your next cruise. Your TA should have explained to you why you couldn't get a better pricing after final payment unless you paid more to upgrade.

Just a suggestion. As others have said, when inside the final payment period it is unlikely that a TA can get you a price adjustment. However, some cruise lines that have major price drops during the final payment period might be willing to discuss some kind of deal such as an upgrade, bargain price upsell, etc.

But when dealing with cruise/travel agencies one should be respectful that time is money to agency staff. Constantly calling them to simply inquire about possible price changes can be viewed as an annoyance by many agents. So we suggest routinely checking agency web sites for price changes. If you do see some kind of change then it is certainly appropriate to call (or e-mail) and ask if you can take advantage of the posted changes.

I travel solo and upgrade on many cruises after final payment. As long as you are willing to pay at least $1 more Celebrity will allow it, even on exciting deals which are supposedly for new bookings only.

I noticed that the California resident rate on this cruise is now $849 for a concierge guarantee so go for it! What a phenomenal price!

You will lose any perks except maybe the credit you received if you booked the cruise onboard. But changing from inside to concierge will earn a lot more captains club points, too.
