5 star partner benefits.

When my wife was a four star and I was 3 I would get the same benefits as she did. I could get in the front line at the tenders, get 50% off coffee and soda with my card. I could charge my card for the pinnacle and it would be 50% off. Not I am 4 and she will be five. How do the extra benefits work? Cooking class. Can I come with her? Free dinner. Is mine free? Day spa? What happens when I am 5 star? Do we each get the freebies and does it go to the other person in the room. I.E. Cooking class. One or two. Just wondering if anyone has had this issue come up.

From Frequently Asked Questions in the Mariner Society section of the HAL website:

12. IF A 3-STAR MARINER SHARES A STATEROOM WITH A 2-STAR MARINER, DOES EACH GUEST RECEIVE SEPARATE BENEFITS?

All guests sharing a stateroom as part of the same booking will receive the benefits earned by the guest at the highest Star level. Guests sharing a stateroom under different booking numbers receive individual Star level benefits (this includes 3rd & 4th guest sharing the same stateroom). See also question 34 answer. All in booking get benefits of the 5 Star in the cabin.

So long as you and your wife are on the same booking number, the benefits of the higher ranking Mariner are extended by courtesy to the lower ranking Mariner. So, once she reaches 5*, you will get the same benefits (e.g. free Pinnacle dinners). Once you reach 5*, you will each have the benefits on your own. This does not mean that you will get 4 free Pinnacle dinners! You each get the two dinners because you have each earned them; the "courtesy" benefits disappear.

I agree the Five Star benefits are nice..... better than Suite benefits as they now stand. Then again, some came from Suite benefits and are duplicated. :rolleyes:
