Getting off Anthem tomorrow, I thought John Blair was rubbish, totally invisible for the first 7 DAYS of the cruise. I don't attend much of the events but for people who are said to be around the ship interacting with passengers often, to not see them around the ship once in 7 days is pretty poor. They're both still heavy on the PA, extremely loud and annoying IMO.

I was also on this cruise with 2 alpha,alpha.alphas I 100 percent agree, Who schedules the love and marriage show at 10:30 on the last night. John and his wife are the worst CD I have had on any royal or celebrity cruise.

I also walked out on the Quest. First time ever. The venue 270 is way to small and has obstructed views only four teams. Just the worst.

Leigh is on the Carnival FREEDOM. His sidekick Frankie is on Carnival LIBERTY. Erky retired from cruise life a while ago to marry and work as a pilot in Turkey.

Not sure -he was scheduled to join Anthem on June 30, but John Blair was sent over from Grandeur due to "an emergency" instead. John confirmed that he will be there for 4 months.

I understand what some of you are saying about the CD situation, but that doesn't make or break my cruises!!! I go for so many other reasons, the CD is the absolute last reason on my list.... I care more about getting away and relaxing, the food, the entertainment with shows and such...

Absolutely true....having a great CD to look forward to, is nice, but I book my cruises based on my schedule and the itinerary/ship that I want to go on.

And just who do you think is responsible for overseeing "the entertainment with shows and stuff"??? The CD has a tremendous effect in these areas, and the quality/quantity widely varies dependent upon the CD.

Ah yes...."overseeing the entertainment with shows and stuff".....so let me share a story...

 

We were on Her Majesty of the Seas a few years ago Mitch Merrucci as CD. We never would miss the Love and Marriage gameshow....a highlight of a cruise....we would play along in the audience as it was going along. Well that time, we were up in the balcony but no one with more years being married than we had in the lower bowl area wanted to play....so he said, if we were willing to play he would wait for us to come down....so I looked at my husband and said...."Let's play" so we did.....and we won!. He had some of the usual questions, but some were really different. He was shocked at how we knew what each other would answer.....It was a fabulous experience. After the cruise we kept in touch with him and then he was on board again the following year, as it happened, when we sailed on Her Majesty.

 

We did not book it because he was on board, but we sure did have fun on board that sailing, in his own way he made it special....no we did not play the game the next year.

 

Now we look forward to being on a sailing some day with Mitch again -- I expect it will be on a different ship....and that is good too.

Will Steve Davis be coming back to Radiance when Jamie Fentiman leaves or will somebody else be taking his place? BTW, wouldn't Jamie wait until the 20th to leave in Honolulu instead of halfway through the cruise on the 15th? :D

Hmmm...I did some investigating on social media, and Jamie posted to FB that he signed onto Radiance on July 10, so I guess that's the correct handover date, unless the 2 CDs are overlapping for one sailing.

 

Someone from Steve's family posts his schedule to this thread, so hopefully they will see this and let us know if he is returning to Radiance or if he will be assigned elsewhere.

 

Also, Gordon Whatman posted on FB on July 11 that Ovation is his home for another 2 weeks, so I suppose the scheduled handover on July 12 did not take place.
