Formal night Specialty Restaurants

No. I do it for the fine lady that I'm traveling with.

 

Bingo! My wife likes the formal nights and I have no problem doing something so very simple that makes her happy. Our upcoming cruise has 3 formal nights. I suspect my wife will want to dress for 2 of them and possibly (but not for certain) all 3. I will be happy to make her happy.

 

We don't change after dinner. We wear the formal wear for the remainder of the evening. I've seen many who do so.

In my working life, anyone in my work group who wore a suit and tie (except for hosting an interviewee or meeting with a customer) would be suspected of having a job interview that day with another company.

 

So in my retired life the only time I wear a suit and tie is at a wedding, a funeral or a formal evening on a cruise. And the tie and jacket come off as soon as dinner is over.

I have limited opportunities to dress up even though I'm still working. I work from home and I get tired of casual clothes. I welcome the opportunity on a cruise.
