What's the best Carnival comp from a single complaint you've gotten?

We got 8 $9 drinks vouchers and our $49 FTTF refunded (but kept the perks) because the air con in our cabin was wetting the carpet in the corner and there was a fan in our room for the first day.

We didn't even complain...the letter was there when we arrived.

We missed Grand Cayman due to weather. We got free rum punch on Lido for an hour that evening. Captain cant predict weather and obviously we didn't complain (lots did though) but we took advantage of the rum:D

Worst cruise experience ever was on RCCL. I was on Majesty of the ****s when the last night the shower drain started gurgling and leaking feces and god knows what into the shower. This problem emitted a horrific smell through out the cabin. I called, they moved us to a different room and then I called corporate when I got home. They gave me a credit for the full amount of cruise before taxes and fees.

My wife and I were recently in the Elation July2015 and had an unexpected yet delightful expirience! First evening in the casino I hit for $2500.00 thinking cool good start! Next morning my wife and I were both well over the 1500 points required for free drinks in the casino but both having cheers card the perk was a moot point we said not a problem and kept playing. I hit for another $1000.00 the manager comes up and says Mr. Leasman we realize you have the cheers card so we would like to offer you and your wife a steak house selection dinner and a bottle of wine compliments of the casino!!! We said thank you very much that it was most kind and above there requirements as it was a $100.00 value. After dinner that evening we went back to our room to relax before the show, diner was amazing by the way wine we saved for a later date, and there were chocolate covered strawberries and a note from the casino manager for my wife saying he hoped we enjoyed dinner and our wine. The next evening I hit another $1000.00 pot in the casino and life was great! We placed all our winning on our S&S account covering all purchases on the cruise and basically paying for the cruise and hotel itself! When we re entered our room that night there was a letter from the hat trick casino saying as a valued guest of the casino please enjoy a free cruise on them (inside cabin) so the wife started dancing!!! So we are going to Jamaica in November for the cost of port fees it will be a nice getaway for us in between family cruises this next year!

Magic Feb2015 (sailed)

Elation Jul2015 (sailed)

Dream Nov2015 (booked)

Triumph Jan2016 (booked)

That's all normal casino host behavior. Comps are based on slot play and points earned, I had pretty much the same results last month on the Fantasy with no wins at all. LOL

This wasn't a complaint and I didn't know that John Heald gave 'free' things. We board the Fantasy for our cruise and the NASCAR race was on, we couldn't find it on any TV's. I asked John Heald what channel or where we could find it, he replied stating they where their network channel was from didn't receive it. I got a letter the last day of the cruise apologizing for it along with a ship on the stick, chocolate covered strawberries, and wine.

In both of these cases we did not complain but were pleasantly surprised. 1) We were on a 5 day from Galveston to Cozumel and Progreso when the swine flu broke. Carnival contacted us and changed our cruise to a 7 day going to Grand Cayman and Jamaica for the price we had already paid. 2) We were on the Ebola scare cruise (media hype) when Carnival graciously gave us each $200 OBC and a half price future cruise. The wine and champagne was freely flowing in the dining room the last few nights as well. Those were both not Carnivals fault but we were compensated very well. We will probably always be Carnival cruisers because we feel they go above and beyond to make things right even when it was not their fault.

Since 2002 I have given a Family & Friends Cruise every year. Every year I would book a handicapped cabin for my aunt, in 2013 some how my aunt's cabin was given to another passenger. My cousin (her cabin mate) and I went to Guest Services to complain we had all the paperwork showing the cabin number that she was assigned but all they kept saying was they were sorry and they had to try to contact the main office. To make a long story short Carnival gave her the complete cost of the cruise plus a little more as OBC and gave her cabin mate $500.00 . But my aunt was not a happy camper being in a regular balcony cabin, in fact she did not leave the cabin for the whole 8 day cruise.

WOW... I'm so sorry your Aunt didn't leave the cabin.. how sad... Is she handicap ? Did they ever tell you why they moved her out ?

We were enjoying our balcony one afternoon when the maintenance crew decided to hose down the deck above us. The water came pouring over the roof above drenching us. We complained and received a voucher for 20% off our next cruise.

The only comp I got wasn't on carnival and it was just a sweatshirt because the air conditioner was malfunctioning and it was 54 degrees in our room

Guess I should have pointed out that a sweatshirt was all I asked for and was given one immediately. I don't complain much either but 54 when it was only 70 outside was mighty cold.

So it wasn't onboard credit, % off our next cruise, or a bottle of wine. It was human kindness, who wasn't assigned to our cabin and didn't have to engage with us at all.

I sent a letter to CCL about it, rather about the Cabin Steward who went above and beyond for us.

This is so nice!

We didn't complain, in fact we had no idea there was an issue...our cabin steward found bed bugs in our room. They moved us to a different cabin, gave us free laundry, 8 drink tickets, refunded back 50% of our cruise as OBC and gave us a 50% off future cruise certificate. This all happened on our very first cruise, if it wasnt for the FCC we probably wouldn't havent cruised again but now we are hooked. Booked our 6th cruise on Carnival just the other day.
