Scarlett824 Posted August 18, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 18, 2015 If you purchase a drink package on RCI do they make you open the beer bottle/can right away, or do they let you take it from the bar unopened? Carnival is required to open it. Sometimes I like to bring a few back to my room to have on hand. Thanks!

Sherri914 Posted August 18, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 18, 2015 While I don't have personal experience with this, I did read very recently in another thread about a couple each often ordering an unopened beer, waiting a few minutes (for the time required between orders), then ordered whatever cocktail they wanted at the moment. The post said they like to keep a few beers on ice in the cabin. So I would assume this is okay.
molsonschooner Posted August 18, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 18, 2015 DW has quite often asked for one to be opened and one not(one for the road she would say). Never had a problem with this but I am not sure what the policy is"

cb at sea Posted August 18, 2015 #6 Share Posted August 18, 2015 (edited) Once a bartender gets to know you, they'll probably let you take it unopened.... But, if they do open it, as for the cap..put it back on, and the "fizzy" will stay for hours! Edited August 18, 2015 by cb at sea
DarthGrady Posted August 19, 2015 #7 Share Posted August 19, 2015 (edited) The screw top aluminum bottles are good if you run into problems. If the ship stocks the swing-top bottles of Grolsch, they also work well for keeping drinks squirreled away for later. RadioRob Posted August 19, 2015 #8 Share Posted August 19, 2015 I'm not a beer drinker, but a good friend of mine is and had one of the beer packages. None of our bartenders had any problem with giving him a closed beer "for the road". :)
