Good question! I don't recall any CCers mentioning getting an upsell offer on a guarantee on other threads, though. Perhaps someone "in the know" can say for sure.

If they want your cabin to resell, it could happen.

I am also hoping they call me to sell me a mini suite, but if they don't I'll be ok with my cabin assignment. I still got obstructed view, but it could be a lot worse. Seems like there're still few Minis available. Even if they call me and offer me an unobstructed Balcony, I would probably take it!:D

I know, but know I really hope I get a upgrade fairy call to a mini, I would pay the discounted rate in a second but the full rate is too rich IMHO

Yes, nice assignment! On our Dec.2013 Royal cruise we booked a GTY as you did. About a month or so before the cruise we were upgraded to obstructed deluxe balcony on Emerald. It was middle of a life raft mid forward and we really liked it as we could see right over raft straight out while sitting.

Good to know! I believe you are first guarantee I have read of that received an upsell offer. Were you offered a specific cabin for the upsell, or was it an offer to a higher-category guarantee such as OV to balcony?
