Question about Drink Package Cup

We are purchasing a drink package for the first time on our upcoming Enchantment cruise. Will the soft drink cup work for hot beverages? DH usually brings me coffee in the morning and I bring an insulated mug, Can I leave it at home this trip and just use the supplied cup?

The current drink cups specifically say for cold beverages only on the lid. People have posted that they have put hot beverages into them but I wouldn't since the plastic is not rated for hot beverages.

I wouldn't either - I don't think it is safe.

Melted plastic would probably enhance the flavor of the coffee (It certainly couldn't hurt it) but I still wouldn't do it.

Can't imagine that they can get a water-based fluid hot enough to melt the mug, but I suppose you could get a slight leaching into the drink (as LEO suggested) for the first few uses. Mugs feel like PVC and that melts in the 400 degree range. I personally wouldn't worry about it - they do a decent job of keeping drinks cold and should work for hot drinks as well. Ours did leak drinks between the two shells, so don't be surprised if yours do as well.
