Richjoxyz Posted September 7, 2015 #76 Share Posted September 7, 2015 Did they sound the abandon ship horns, six or seven short beeps, and then a long one? Or did they just make announcements?
pauleydm Posted September 7, 2015 Author #77 Share Posted September 7, 2015 Yes, getting tired. It is hot, and there are very few places that are shaded. Plus, besides the intermittent wood benches which are occupied, most people are sitting on the side walk. Carnival is now going around asking people if they swiped their card before they left the ship...which we did not do. The crew member said we should be going back on the ship soon, but when asked, there is no news on whether we will be able to finish the cruise. thinblue Posted September 7, 2015 #81 Share Posted September 7, 2015 We were just planning on playing trivia and having a relaxed day since we have been to St Thomas two times. I am glad I have my medicines with me at least. I usually have only my sail and sign... I'll find something small to carry ID, cash and a credit card in the future. I hope you can at least get on board and get some AC soon. It can get mighty hot down there.
Boyshockeymommy Posted September 7, 2015 #83 Share Posted September 7, 2015 Just looking at a live satellite picture of the Liberty and there is smoke coming from one side of the whale tail, but that usually happens when they start an engine up. Hopefully that is the case. Kimm
Heartkrazy Posted September 7, 2015 #84 Share Posted September 7, 2015 Interesting thing: that has been pulled from JH's FB page now. I noticed that too, so I just clicked over to his page from my FB page without using the link & it's there.

Yes, they just put it back with an updated time stamp. I guess someone jumped the gun on the earlier post.
sharpasice Posted September 7, 2015 #87 Share Posted September 7, 2015 I usually have only my sail and sign... I'll find something small to carry ID, cash and a credit card in the future. My husband has a zippered pocket in his swim wear and I usually wear one of those waterproof ID holders around my neck with a couple of bucks, driver's license, sign & sail card and a credit card...none of which will get damaged even if the case doesn't work and they get wet. Here'a a link to the case, if it helps http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DKNB6UC/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=1944687642&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B00LGBJ09E&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0S0446C5X2A8PXXDEKTD

pauleydm Posted September 7, 2015 Author #91 Share Posted September 7, 2015 The smoke appears to be the normal exhaust. We are supposed to be back on ship at 4:30 and leave for Barbados at 5:00.

joepeka Posted September 7, 2015 #94 Share Posted September 7, 2015 (edited) JoePeka that link does not show the pics for me. You may need to refresh that page in your browser - sometimes the image does not load (or only partially loads) - I suppose it's due to it being a satellite link. The images do auto-update every 60 seconds. Edited September 7, 2015 by joepeka

HawkIVette Posted September 7, 2015 #96 Share Posted September 7, 2015 Do you see anyone on ship in full oxygen mask and oxygen tanks? Lots of cargo doors open on the side of the ship trying to vent it? Don't you mean air tanks? Breathing straight oxygen would be a killer too. okieuser Posted September 7, 2015 #97 Share Posted September 7, 2015 Praying for good news as we are supposed to sail on her this coming Sunday. What do you all think the chances are that we will still cruise? I'm thinking, not good :(
Doug910 Posted September 7, 2015 #98 Share Posted September 7, 2015 http://ships.carnivalentertainment.com/#ship/carnival-liberty/cameras ...Appears to be normal whisps of black exhaust coming from both exhaust vents of the whaletail. Very good sign. Pauly, thanks for the updates. Best wishes for your cruise to continue on as scheduled.
