C&A Membership

If I enroll in Crown & Anchor prior to my cruise, am I automatically Gold when I get on board? If so, do I get perks like Priority boarding and invited to the member party?

Also, what kinds of special offers are typically "loaded to my SeaPass card"? Any spa discounts?

Will this be your first cruise with Royal?

No, you don't become automatically Gold. You have to take your first trip before you become Gold. Not sure if it's a current benefit but at least 3 years ago, Gold members got 10% off one salon or spa service. The other benefits we had (some of which were ship specific and/or may no longer be valid but still gives you a general idea):

  • Buy one beer/glass of wine/soda, get one free
  • 10% off a beer/glass of wine/soda
  • 25% discount on any Seattle's Best Coffee beverage
  • Buy one milkshake, get one free at Johnny Rockets
  • Buy one photo and receive a 50% discount on a second photo
  • $5.00 internet credit or 10% off any internet package purchase (whichever is greater)
  • Free Spin to Win in the casino
  • $5.00 match play casino certificate
  • Purchase any bingo package and receive one free Single Jackpot bingo card
  • 10% off a purchase of $25 or more at the Logo Gift Shop
  • $50 off your purchase of $1000 or more at the art auction
  • Spend $1000 or more on fine jewelry and receive a 10% discount
  • Purchase any size temporary airbrushed tattoo and receive a free Gold Color upgrade
  • 10% off a Pets at Sea package (includes a pet and outfit)
  • 25% off the purchase of RCI's cookbooks
  • 10% off any one spa or salon service
  • 5% off a Romero Britto collectible
  • 15% off a Bedding Collection purchase (online promo code)

You can register/enroll now.

https://secure.royalcaribbean.com/cas/enroll/home.do

Gold members don't have priority boarding.

Only SOME ships on SOME cruises have a party that includes Gold members.

I see that your first cruise will be on the Anthem. On the Quantum, Gold was included in the C&A party in the theater.

Since they started allowing enrollment before you even cruise, some things have changed, but I'm not positive what those things are.

Looks like you will just have to wait until November to find out! ;)

First cruise but I already enrolled a few days ago. It's a little confusing to enroll prior to first cruise if you have no benefits on that cruise.

Points are not earned until you have "completed" a cruise. So for your second RCI cruise you will be gold and get benefits.:)

We are booked in a JS on Legend in January, 14 day cruise, our first with RC. Legend has a 2 night sampler cruise in December. If prices come down close to the cruise date, do people think it's worth booking to get double points in a JS and being gold members before our cruise in January. We do plan on booking another cruise while on board, just don't know whether the perks are worth it?

One less thing to worry about. :D

And only C&A members are supposedly allowed to book their next cruise on board and get that benefit. So you will have SOME benefit! ;)

I assume that you live in Australia? ;)

I would say "yes" and get an OV cabin. :D

Thanks for the response...Yes we are in Australia.

If we get an OV that won't get us to Gold as it's only a 2 nighter. At least that's the way I read the C and A site. I thought we would have to book a JS to get double points and be a gold member for our second cruise.

The price that they are asking for a JS for that cruise is SO not worth it!

(again, in my opinion ;))

I totally agree with you on the price. We won't even consider it unless there is a decent price drop.

Ok, this is going to blow your mind:

If you booked two inside cabins, paying DOUBLE minus the port fee/tax, you would spend less than the JS costs, and you would still receive the double points!!!!!

  :p  :D

If you booked your cruise prior to signing up for Crown and Anchor make sure you call RCCL Or your Travel Agent (If you used one) to get your number attached to your booking so you do get the points for your first cruise.

I happened to stumble upon this the other night while I was on the Crown and Anchor website, and for people with zero cruise points, it is basically used for marketing only.

I booked two cabins[one for me and one for the kids] on my recent 3 day'er on the Enchantment and I only got 3 points for that cruise

If you sailed solo and paid the 100% surcharge you should get double points, call C&A and ask them to correct it.

Merion_mom was suggesting an alternate way of earning enough points on a 2 night cruise in December to enable us to be gold members before our 14 night cruise in January. We are in a JS then :)

Oh my bad! That makes perfect sense then. Definitely pay more attention to what Merion_mom has to say than theredwoodguy! :)

You keep doing the double points thing and you will be Diamond before you know it. My wife and I just took our first cruise as Diamond and it was our 9th cruise yet we didn't figure out the double points option until cruise #4.

Was your the only name listed on the initial reservation or did one of the kids get listed on your reservation and then move cabins once on board.

If you were listed on the reservation and paid the single supplement then you should call and you will receive the double points.
