FLL/MIA Taxi for 5

Trying to decide between renting a car and staying in Fort Lauderdale returning car at MIA before cruise or taking at taxi directly to Miami for our one night pre- cruise. We arrive at 5:30 PM into FLL. Both scenarios require a taxi, and there are 5. Will we have a problem getting a taxi for 5 at either airport. Should I book a car service instead?

For 5, taxi (SUV and van taxis are commonly available) and shuttle (very commonly recommended here) about break even. I would think a shuttle will be better assured to handle the baggage of a group of 5.

Far fewer shuttle options to Miami with your late afternoon arrival. I would stay in the FLL area and then either follow your rental car plan or just take a shuttle to POM. Taxi from FLL to POM will run about $75-80 on the meter.
