Qualifying for Mileage Cruise

Where can I find info on Mileage Cruise discounts etc., after sailing 25 other cruises?

I couldn't find information anywhere, can you help?

Thanks everyone we are fast approaching #25 so will wait for the letter.:)

For your 25th cruise you will receive 25% OBC only towards the actual amount of the cruise, not the port charges or tax and only for you... Then its 50% for 50 cruises ...

You will not receive the letter until AFTER your 25th cruise is completed BUT if you want to use it on your 25th cruise, you tell your PVP or call the Milestone # (which I cannot find, sorry) ...

And like the above recommended, my husband & I saved ours for our 11 day cruise we're taking next year even through we have taken and will take cruises before that one... I believe you have up to 18 months to redeem the offer

Would suggest you use it for a more expensive cruise. For example we used hubbies for a 15 day Hawaiian cruise and saving mine for a longer than 8 day one.

That's what we've done. We used mine for HI. It was my 28th cruise.

I got my letter a month or so after my 24th cruise. Mom got an email with an 'invoice'. Sis received nothing.

Contact the Milestone desk a few weeks beforehand. The credit will not be applied until a few days before sailing. IIRC they post the OBC on Thursdays.

Last thread that I read about the Milestone was that there is no expiration date, need to confirm that.

DH and I sailed on our 24th Carnival cruise in July. In August, we booked a Premier Casino Cruise and I asked the PVP if it could be my milestone cruise, or did I have to wait for the letter? He said it could be my milestone cruise and it was booked as such. I didn't see anything about it in the booking information, so I called Carnival and the person checked our reservation and said it is listed as my milestone cruise. I won't see anything in the booking information online until 2-3 days before the cruise. Incidentally, DH and I received our milestone cruise letters just this week, so we did not need the letters before booking the milestone cruise. 25% of the cruise cost, but does not include taxes or port charges. Looking forward to it - free cash for the casino since it's a premier casino cruise plus the 25% milestone onboard credit - whoo hooo!!

Perhaps I am missing something.

Since you are paying almost nothing for the cruise why use your 25% milestone for this cruise?

Not all of us get "almost free" Premiere Cruise offers. Mine are never even close (and the two I've taken so far I've been solo).

I'll be on the Vista Inaugural for my 25th. Even though it certainly isn't the cheapest cruise out there, I'm not going to use it then because I'm (again) going as cheap on the cabin as I can because the other costs will be high.

I'm saving it, keeping my fingers crossed for a Panama Canal or some other great repo cruise. Still, I don't plan on bankrupting myself just to get an OBC!

I was happy to come across this thread. We have been thinking about our 25 milestone cruise for 2017.

Is it my understanding that we do not have to use both of our milestone cruises for the same cruise?

If that is true does that mean that the applied on board would then be 25% of one person's base cruise fare?

Just trying to make sure I have the details straight.

We are hoping to book Hawaii for Fall of 2017.

We were thinking we had to make that our 25th cruise but it sounds like you can wait to use your 25% for a later cruise, within 18 months of becoming eligible.

Thanks for posting this thread.

The Milestone desk phone: 877 225 8477

Copied from Carnival's site:

Milestone Rewards Program denotes a guest’s 25th, 50th 75th and 100th revenue cruise with Carnival. Guests will receive a special Milestone Sail & Sign card on their corresponding Milestone cruise. We want to distinguish guests on their Milestone sailing with a unique card so that we can make his/her Milestone experience extra special and memorable. After this milestone cruise, they will revert to the card that corresponds to their VIFP level.

In appreciation for their loyalty, the guest will also be granted the opportunity to redeem a future non-refundable onboard credit equivalent to 25%, 50% or 75% of the cruise ticket price, corresponding to the milestone reached. And when a guest reaches his/her 100th cruise, will qualify for a FREE Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Alaska or Australia cruise of their choice (up to 8 days). This onboard credit may be applied to any future cruise in accordance with the terms and conditions below. A letter will be mailed to the guest prior to reaching each Milestone cruise providing instructions on how to redeem their milestone reward.

Terms and Conditions (in fine print on the bottom of the Milestone letter)

Milestone Reward is valid for its stated value in U.S. dollars, only on Carnival Cruise Line and/or Carnival Australia cruise booking, to be used as a credit on board a ship. The Milestone Reward is not valid on any other cruise line, including any Carnival Corporation affiliate line. Milestone Reward is nontransferable, nonrefundable and has no cash value.

Milestone Reward must be redeemed at least 30 days prior to sail date and will be applied to the booking on the week prior to sailing.

Only one Milestone Reward is redeemable per guest, per booking.

Booking must be made within 18 months of the date stated on the letter from Carnival's Milestone Desk; there is no specific sailing window. (End of quote from website).

If a couple have both achieved milestone status then both credits can be used on the same cruise or on 2 different cruises. Don't wait for a letter, we have now sailed 76 Carnival cruises (completing #75 on 9/5/2015) and have yet to receive a letter after any of the 6 qualifying cruises. We have used the 25% and 50% OBCs without a problem. I believe the above quote about needing to book within 18 months of qualifying is no longer enforced.

Thanks, Bob and Lynda.

We were wondering how the OBC credit percentage is figured.

Is it based on the base cruise rate that you have designated as your milestone cruise or some other way?

I think I understand that if we only use each of our discounts on different cruises the OBC would be calulated on only that person's rate.

Is that correct?

Need to update my signature as we have 7 Carnival cruises booked for 2016.

I see you will be cruising out of Galveston next year on RCCL Liberty OTS.

We have just made it to Diamond on RCCL. Looking forward to the DL fun.

Thanks again.

Sharon

The OBC based on your fare (commissionable and non-commissionable) not including port fees and taxes. The cruise that you are applying the credit to.

If you get a fare reduction before the cruise your OBC will be reduced.

The milestone credit is passenger specific.

Exactly correct, the fare reduction part is why the OBC will not be applied until a couple days before the cruise. Listed below is another quote from Carnival that confirms the 18 month rule no longer applies:

Terms and Condition (in fine print on the back of the Milestone letter)

•Milestone Reward is valid for its stated value in U.S. dollars, only on Carnival Cruise Lines, to be used as a credit on board a Carnival ship. The Milestone Reward is not valid on any other cruise line, including any affiliate of Carnival Cruise Lines.

•Milestone Reward is nontransferable, nonrefundable and has no cash value.

•Milestone Reward must be redeemed at least 30 days prior to sail date.

•Only one Milestone Reward is redeemable per guest, per booking.

•Even though the Milestone Reward expires 18 months from the date stated on the letter, it is no longer necessary to use within that time period.

Does carnvial discriminate based on the type of cruise you book?

i.e. I am in Southern California and I can easily book 2, 3 or 4 night cruises for pretty cheap. We are going on a 3 night weekend cruise Nov 19th for $589 for 2 people which includes tips, taxes and fees and there were even cheaper ones if I wanted to keep searching. My fiance and I have decided cruising is more relaxing than the crowds at Disneyland and we are letting our premium passes expire and taking more trips instead. We can take lots of little cruises and then possibly use our mileage cruise towards a longer Hawaiian cruise.

Thanks!
