Working as a team with your dh helps too. Sometimes when I can't get something with my wording, dh can with his approach. We just worked on the local cable tv company to avoid the inevitable increase. ;)

A lot of these price drops after final payment are Flash Sales and are for new bookings only. Find out if the deal you're trying to get is a Flash Sale and if it is, it'll limit your chances of getting any kind of compensation. Sounds like the OP was lucky and her bookings weren't.
