Leaving this Friday for San Juan and the Jewel! Can you come??!! :D

Check out my signature and book one of those!! Would love to see you guys!!

Wish we could. Jewel is one of our favorite ships. I don't think my boss would love the idea lol. I am a slave to my job.

We were pretty beat from the heat of the day, but we made it to the CL for a short time and then on to dinner. We called it a night pretty early tonight.

Thursday ~ October1, 2015 ~ St. Kitts

After breakfast, we got ready to go out for the day. We always get a day pass at the Marriott. ($35 pp) We've been to all the beaches here and none even come close to spending the day at the Marriott!

We docked very early today....7 AM.....and it was HOT!!!

When we got there, the place was deserted. We logged into the wonderfully fast wifi and headed down to the beach where we had our pick of cabanas.

The beach was nice, but HOT! There was a slight breeze, so it was comfortable. The water was a little rough today, though.

We spent all morning on the beach:

Around 12:30-!:00 we moseyed up to the pool area and got the last two chairs that I could find with an umbrella! We must have shade. More people were out and about now, but it still wasn't crowded. The chairs have covers on them, too......so we made sort of a little shade fort!! Ha!

DSC08931_zpsuonvtpds.jpg

We got some lunch in the poolside restaurant. The food is really good here and quite plentiful. You can easily split an entrée and that's what we usually do.

The pool area is huge and so pretty. The only problem today was that the water was a little warm! We spent the rest of the afternoon at the pool.

We stayed here until around 3. I always hate to leave here. We easily got an nice air conditioned taxi back to the ship. Once again the heat zapped us today.

The port area in St. Kitts is nice with lots of stores and restaurants. We just walk through the area, though. We don't shop any more. Watch out here for guys that will put a monkey on your back and then expect you to pay them.

DSC08932_zpseb4vtfss.jpg

Back on the ship.....we got frozen yogurt and naps!!

The heat really did a number on us today, so we cut the CL time short tonight and went to dinner early. We nearly fell asleep in our dinner plates, so we went back to the cabin right after dinner and were in bed by 9:15!! Such party animals!

So there were kiddos in the pool? And is the pool free. Our kiddos will be 3 and 5.5 when we sail here and I really don't like the idea of paying for a beach/all inclusive excursion....so we could possibly go to Margaretville and have some adult beverages and swim with the kiddos a bit as a nice option...

Yes.....kids are allowed and it's free. I would suggest getting out there early to get some chairs. It IS a nice option.

Friday ~ October 2, 2015 ~ At Sea

We wind up this cruise with two days at sea and I love it when that happens. So relaxing and not so hectic trying to get packed up in a hurry.

Had coffee with Eddie this morning!

DSC08940_zpshnejucv7.jpg

Hurricane Joachin was stirring around in the Caribbean and the regular route would have gone right through the middle of it. The Captain explained with charts and graphs how he was going to take a longer, more southerly route to avoid it. It worked.....we were hardly disturbed at all. This was about as rough as it got out there. Could hardly feel much motion. But there was some.

Checked out the Solarium this morning. Apparently there was a towel animal demo somewhere because thee were towel animals all over the place. I've never seen so many!

Eddie was in his spot for the day!

It was very windy up on deck, so us girls went down to the Promenade to play another new card game. This is a favorite card game in Australia. Again complicated, but I hung in there and played. It was fun. It was called Five Alive.

I connected to the internet again today and it was working quite well

At 2:30....all D+ and Pinnacle folks were invited to an old fashioned Ice Cream Social with the Captain and the Officers. This was the first time they had done this and t was well attended and was really nice. We first started out with ice cream sodas. They had two different kinds that waiters brought around.

DSC08953_zpsicklkcy7.jpg

We sat at tables and waited our turn.

You could choose any container that you wanted to build your sundae.

DSC08956_zpspa6ixove.jpg

I chose the martini glass!

DSC08957_zpsd1zeaqmu.jpg

The officers served the ice cream and there were plenty of choices.

Hi Jane, what a fantastic idea for the ice cream social. I bet there wasn't much food waste;).

I recognise HD Johann in the middle of the 3 officers serving the ice cream.

Yes.....that was a great idea. They need to keep coming up with things like this. It was fun.

Raj even gives massages!!!

DSC08970_zpspgrojd33.jpg

Franca and Bill always came back to join us for a little bit after they had their dinner.

DSC08971_zpsmuizqdha.jpg

We went to dinner a tad early. We had prime rib tonight. It was good, although a bit thin.

Casino time after dinner. John won a little. We got raffle tickets for a special drawing for $500, but no luck in that.

Nice day!
