Lonedaddy Posted October 19, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2015 Planning for our upcoming trip in January and found this map which gives safety warnings by neighborhood day and night. Could make this a sticky. http://www.touroldsanjuan.com/safety-map/
Lard Greystoke Posted October 20, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 20, 2015 Glad to hear that my favorite walking area, Puerto de la Tierra, is marked "Extremely Dangerous - Never enter under any circumstances".
SeasideMemories Posted October 21, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 21, 2015 Thanks for posting this! There are good areas and bad and no guarantees in the areas deemed as 'safe' but always good to have information to help make an informed decision! CruiserBruce Posted October 21, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 21, 2015 Never heard of a "Safety Map". However, common practitioner of the "Safety Nap".

mermaidIamNOT Posted November 3, 2015 #6 Share Posted November 3, 2015 While there a few years ago we wanted to walk down to the Cemetery next to the fort. We got the directions from a police man by the port who was directing traffic. After giving us the directions he added "I suggest you take a taxi instead, once you go down there you are on your own we don't go down there". We walked to the fort an looked down into the area and within 5 min heard three gun shots turned around an walked back to the ship. This was at around 2pm I could only imagine how safe it is as it gets dark. La Perla I think they call the area.
CruizeVirgin Posted November 4, 2015 #7 Share Posted November 4, 2015 I will stay on the right side of the wall and stick with the forts.
