I can't figure out where the "new thread' button is?!!!

I can't either!
Scroll to the top of the page. On the left hand side, in small red print will be "Cruise Critic Message Board Forums>Cruise Lines A-O>Norwegian Cruise Line". Click on Norwegian Cruise Line. Then, halfway down the following page on the left hand side right above the thick blue bar will be the New Thread Button.

looking for an honest answer, preferably from Norwegian or knowledgeable TA and not the been there done that past Escape cruisers...

I see a lot of posts on FB group page that the Escape rocks way more than other ships and some speculate a problem with stabilizers while others blame design flaw on ship being more narrow and taller so top heavy ship will always sway more...

anyone have any true actual insight to these crazy comments?

Not an expert, but the Escape is 6 ft wider than the breakaway class ships. So, being narrower is not correct. Having been on the Breakaway once, the Getaway twice, and the Escape once( going back in 13 days), I can tell you there is little or difference in the sway. I will say the Escape makes noise that other two don't.

Don't think that you're going to get anyone from NCL to call their new baby ugly.

We were on the Escape in November on a fully sold cruise when the did a couple of open ocean speed trials. There were arguments on CC because many didn't notice that we had jumped speed up and down. No rocking. Very smooth.

We were on the Epic in October when she did acceleration and emergency stop tests after Her dry dock. There was substantial vibration during both tests in glassy water in Vigo bay. We were chasing our food on the table with all of the movement then.

Spoke with a friend yesterday who just returned from the Escape. We sailed the Getaway together this past September. So anywhoo, she told me the cig smoke from the casino was really bad on their sailing, said it could be smelled from almost the entire inside of the ship. Admittedly, we thought it was pretty bad on the Getaway but not as bad as she described the Escape. When we complained about it on the Getaway she would say, "I don't find it to be bad at all." So if we thought that was terrible but she didn't and now she describes the Escape as bad.... See what I mean? We are booked b2b on the Escape in May in 2 staterooms + my inlaws are going on the first leg in another stateroom. My inlaws are very sensitive and have asthma. We just flat out don't like it. I'm thinking this is where the deal breaker moment happens. I'm **thiiiiiiis** close to ditching the Escape entirely.

Can anyone describe to me how bad it is?

I've been on the Breakaway, the Getaway(2), and the Escape. Going back to the Escape in 12 days. They're all the same design, with the exception of the skyline bar on the Escape includes where Bliss is on the other 2 ships. As an ex-smoker, I notice the smell. You surely can tell when you get to the casino, that people smoke there. As happens with all ships that allow people to smoke in the casino. You have to walk by the casino to go to the MDR aft or O'Sheehan's, so people are always passing it. Just like people complaining when they walk by the casino on the older NCL ships to get to the theater if they want the balcony. I'd say it has more to do with how many smokers you have on your cruise, rather than the ship itself. I've never noticed it in restaurants on 6 or the bars on 8.

We have been on the Breakaway twice, Getaway twice, and Escape once. I think that they are all about the same. They are physically the same ship (give or take). The casino on the Escape is bigger (filling the space that is the Shanghai noodle please on Getaeay and Breakaway. But, that is suppose to be a nonsmoking area. I hate smoke. But didn't notice MORE on the escape than the other ships.

We are booked on the Escape inside cabin 14469. I would like to know what is directly above us on deck 15.

Hi Spookey,

I'm looking at booking room 14469 on Escape. Would you happen to remember if the door was on the aft end of the room? It's not clear on the deck plan how/where 14469 connects to the hallway.

Thanks!

Do Haven guests need to go to headliners to get VIBE passes or just to the concierge in Haven?

The concierge should be able to help you.

But,,, why on earth would you want a vibe pass? The vibe sundeck is exactly 3 inches from the Havens sundeck (just a metal partition between the two).
