Web Site Issues...AGAIN

Earlier today, Celebrity posted a response to a guest concerning the timing of a GTY cabin assignment on Cruise Critic:

Most likely the person handling social media does not even work in the SAME COUNTRY as the person handling the broken website and reservation database, and has many layers of bureaucracy and/or incompetence in between that would prevent them from obtaining any useful technical information. Furthermore, they most likely work for the Marketing department, and thus have an even more limited repertoire of information not directly related to the purchasing experience.

Now my reservation isn't even appearing when I sign in--my mom tried as well and the same result. Can't even add the reservation back in.

 

Celebrity is giving me a horrible first impression. If they're too stupid to operate a website, how can I trust that they will provide a safe cruise? What exactly are we paying for?

I just came onto the forum to post a thread enquiring if others were having the same problem and saw all these posts.

 

I have been having the same issue for several weeks. I have managed to check in, but have been wanting to pre-book some things on our cruise in January - but it says either reservation unavailable or cannot retrieve reservation - but this morning the reservation doesn't show and I can't re add it.

Very frustrating.

Celebrity is giving me a horrible first impression. If they're too stupid to operate a website, how can I trust that they will provide a safe cruise? What exactly are we paying for?

 

IMO and to set your mind at rest, the product at sea is superb. If you check our sailing history you will notice that we have now opted to be loyal to Celebrity.

All four of our reservations have disappeared,hopefully it's just a glitch for the day.I have no doubt we will be safe as long as the I.T dept. aren't running the ship :)

All checked in and passes printed...used the already booked link, worked like a charm.

 

My check in worked ok the same way - but when I try to access further via Manage Reservation it has problems. I tried again now and the booking is back visible but now it says "the system is currently unable to handle your request for retrieving your reservation"

Just tried a few minutes ago and was told "Your reservation is being modified. Try again in 20 minutes". On any other line I would hope that I was being upgraded. On Celebrity there is no hope. No upgrade, just a screwed up system.

Still no joy accessing reservation this evening; it has only been 3 weeks or so, and a couple of telephone calls to Celebrity, since I last saw (or was able to deal with) my reservation. I'm sure everything is fine. I'm sure it must be something I'm doing wrong. I'm sure Celebrity's website and online access isn't at fault.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Yes. That's the only reason I feel reasonably comfortable.

 

But it's still sad for a huge company like RCCL, the parent, to have such problems for so long in it's IT department and it's software program/s.

 

I haven't read all the posts, but for those of you having problems, have you contacted your TA if you use one? I had a glitch with our last cruise and put it in ny TA's hands to resolve it.

Any tips for us who just received their new passports and need to update the information on line before their cruise in a few weeks? I know some family members who haven't printed out their cruise docs. This is insane!!!

 

Call Celebrity. Annoying but that's the only option if you can't do it yourself, right? Or call your TA if you're using one.

This issue has been going on for over a week now. I find it entirely unthinkable that a Corporation of RCI's size doesn't have a competent IT department to fix their website. Celebrity should at a minimum send one of those blanket "sorry you're having issues" type email to everyone. Its just crazy to me they haven't fixed the issue yet.

This issue has been going on for over a week now. I find it entirely unthinkable that a Corporation of RCI's size doesn't have a competent IT department to fix their website. Celebrity should at a minimum send one of those blanket "sorry you're having issues" type email to everyone. Its just crazy to me they haven't fixed the issue yet.

 

 

The real sad part is that this has been ongoing for months. It's not the first time. X has been lambasted previously.

I'm wondering if their recent CEO is aware or even cares. It's not doing anything positive for X. Maybe someone (all of us) should try writing to her, if that's a possibility.

Try going to the website with another browser. If Edge won't work try internet explorer, or safari,firefox or google chrome. Sometimes that will work. If not call Captain's Club and see if they can help.

At 4:00 pm EST got access to the on line check in but was not in a convenient place to complete. 2 hrs later was not available again using Chrome, Explorer, Firefox.

But at 7:30pm my number came up and I was able to complete check in and print the express pass. Their Web site is like playing the slot machines in the casinos on board, you know you will lose but you keep trying anyway and are thrilled when you get the smallest amount back😩

Totally agree, the 'online check in' is the worst i have ever experienced.

Come on celebrity get your act together and fix this problem.:mad:
