Cocoa Beach Hotels / Transfers

I have sailed out of Port Canaveral before but never stayed at Cocoa Beach. I was thinking of staying there this April for my cruise on Sunshine.

I stayed right on the beach in Fort Lauderdale one time and it was such a disaster that it actually put a damper on the first couple days of the cruise.

I would value some input and suggestions from anyone who has stayed in Cocoa Beach pre-cruise. Positive and negative experiences on where you stayed and transportation to the port would be great. Thanks! :)

We have always stayed at the Raddison, loved the pool.

The hotel is starting to show its age, but is very clean, and they did update all the rooms.

Not ocean front.

Does not provide free shuttle you have to pay.

Cheaper to take a cab, and you can go when you want and not be hearded like cattle on the shuttle.

Loved the pool:D

Enjoy

We prefer to stay in Orlando instead of Cocoa Beach - 1000's of hotels in every price range and lots of dining options. Rent a car and drive to the port the morning of your cruise.

I think I would prefer to stay by the water. Have you ever found it a hassel to drop off the rental?

A big factor is how many ships are turning over on that day.

The rental offices here are not huge. If it is a one or two ship day there is seldom a problem. But there can be FIVE ships & then there is a good chance it will be a zoo.
