Chris, you are doing a fantastic job. Your pictures are beautiful. That's a very big yacht docked next to you. Any idea who owns it? Do you know what it's name is? Your picture probably made Gambee's day.

LoL, as you can imagine Chris contacted me with the info already. The yacht is "Rising Sun", the 11th largest in the world. Owned by the CEO of Oracle and David Geffen.

It is 454 ft!!!! Just incredible!

She looks so much better at night!

Enjoying your live thread. I have been on Regal Princess and have eaten at the lunch buffet. Is the dinner buffet have as large array of choices as does the lunch buffet. Or is it the same menu and the dinning room?

Enjoy your cruise and thank you for taking the time to post.

I can answer that. Although a lot of the buffet food is the same as the MDR menu there is plenty, and I do mean plenty, of choices way beyond what is served in the MDR. When we ate there in the evening we were always amazed with the variety of choices. If you find that the MDR menu is not to your liking, by all means, go to the buffet. You will be happy that you did.

On our last Regal cruise we only at the buffet at lunch time during port days. This time I want to check it out a dinner too.

Did you contact Holland House directly to reserve your beach day? Please keep taking photos, will be very interested to see how the day goes for you. Congrats on your lucky win. Well deserved ... This has been an amazing thread .. One of the first things I do in the morning is check for your latest posts. Not sure who will be the most sad when your cruise is over. [emoji25]

Chris - Your reviews & pictures are all outstanding! I just got back from spending a week on St. Maartin - be sure to get an umbrella at the beach - the sun is extremely strong and there is no shade on the boardwalk. Tons of shops to visit on Front St. too. Enjoy your day on one of my favorite islands.

Just caught up with you and am REALLY enjoying your posts! A group of friends and I are doing 14 days on Regal in January and this is really amping up my excitement!

Thank you!

I have one question... Is the Casino smokey at all?

Thanks!

Deb

Hi Chris, Thanks for this Live Review. We have booked one of the forward facing balcony cabins on Regal on the Lido deck for our February cruise. (L102). I am curious as to how far a trek it is from the main areas on Lido deck or the nearest elevator to these cabins which are above the bridge. My 87 year old father will be with us and I don't want to walk him to death. . .he is in good shape and very agile but I wonder if this is going to be burdensome to him, being so far forward. If you have a chance and feel inclined to make the trek to that area of cabins, I'd be curious to know your opinion as to whether this is ridiculously far from everything. Thanks!

Hello friends! Back on board after a great day at the beach :) For those that have asked about the beach day at Holland House:

It's not something that needs to be reserved in advance unless you have a large group and especially if there are a lot of ships in port.... then I would contact them to reserve in advance so to insure you will have chairs and an umbrella saved for you.

It's 20 dollars per couple which gets you two chairs, an umbrella, and a bucket of beer, soda, water, or a combination.
